If anyone is bothering to read this-
I installed the latest pure3d drivers v1.60, but it caused my Umax Astra
1220S flatbed scanner to not work (it uses its own scsi card). Any call
to the printer (tests or from programs) causes the blue screen of
death. Went back to v1.50 and everything works again. Any suggestions?
TIA- I've got no ideas or leads.

When you say it's not working, what happens? I have an Astra 610P and have
always gotten fatal exception errors in vxd vwin32. VistaScan (which SUCKS
HARD) conflicts with video drivers at the drop of a hat. I've had a Stealth
II and a Genoa V-raptor and both caused this problem. I've had to reboot
into safe mode or drag the performance bar down on the graphics card to scan
anything.

I've had trouble with the new drivers as well. Canopus asked me for the
specific symptoms and apparently is checking it out. Any word on what's
happening now? Canospus folks? They're probably busy fixing the drivers as
we speak...

The same thing happened with my Umax Astra 600s. I didn't even get to
the Print stage when using its "Copy Utility". I would get Fatal
Exception Error 17. But even worse, fatal exception error began to
turn up seemingly randomly when I used other programs as well. That
Never happened before. I told Canopus tech support about it, and they
told me.
"Just one thing though, did you install special drivers for
your hard disk controller? If you did, try installing the
standard driver and see if you can run the 1.60 driver.
We have seen this problem and before and the above
suggestion usually fixes it."
They also told me that "special drivers" would show up under Device
Manager, Hard Disk Controller and have "Bus Mastering" in their name.
I checked, and don't have any. I too went back to 1.50 and all is
fine. I think I'll stick with 1.50 for now.
