There is usually a plastic part covering the top hinge. It will pull or snap off, rarely there might be a small screw.

Remove that plastic covering, and then unbolt the part of the hinge assembly attached to the body of the freezer.. DO THIS WHILE THE DOOR IS CLOSED! That is so the magnetic seal around the door will tend to hold it in place. Lean against it as you remove the hinge part so the door does not fall away and land on you, or even worse: break the door!

Slowly lift the door out of the bottom hinge, and carefully set it somewhere safe.

Be VERY CAREFUL when you set the door down. If you set it upright, against a wall or something, be aware that there is a pin sticking out the bottom of that door hinge, and it will likely simply ruin any flooring you set it on - and I speak that as a "voice of experience"!

Have fun!

Left hand door not closing easily anymore. lubricate the hinge?

It could be the fridge is tilting forward.
Up turn the two front screw beside the door to make the fridge tilt backwards, or lower down the two back screw to allow the fridge to tilt backwards.

Then the door will automatically close by the weight of the door itself!

How to remove bottom (freezer) door on my subzero refrigerator/freezer

With the door closed. Remove the cover over the bottom door hinge by removing the two screws holding it in place. This also allows the door closing mechanism to be removed. Rotate the door closer away from the refrigerator and slide straight down. Now open the freezer door. Take a pencil and mark around the hinge on top of the freezer door so you will know where to put the hinge back in place later. Remove the three large hinge screws and two small shipping screws. This will release the door on the top. Rotate the door away to get free from the hinge and pull the entire door straight up.

I have a frigidaire stand up freezer model #lffh21f7hw, and the door isn't vacumn sealing the door, why?

If you have too much weight in the door or someone pulled down in the door, it gets twisted. Try lifting up on the bottom outside corner of the door to straighten it up. You might have to loosen the top hinge to reseat it.

Freezer door wont shut straight

One of the two hinges on refrigerator doors is meant to be adjustable; on your freezer door, it may be underneath the cabinet. Use a mirror to see if that lower hinge appears to have an adjustment range. This can be as simple as over-sized holes through which the screws are placed. It may be necessary to slightly tilt and prop up the entire unit for access.

Change doors of fridge freezer from right opening to left opening needless to say cannot find instructions after 10 years

tilt unit backwards, and under hinge side you will see a bracket, undo bolts and transfer to opposite side leaving loose, slide door down ,then on top of door transfer plug to opposite side(if needed)slide door back up and refit bottom hinges/tighten bolts.
handle is just a matter of prising plastic cover of and unscrewing, then refitting to other side.
once you tip it backward its pretty obvious really.

How do i replace the gasket on a top freezer refrigator?

Hi, first you will have to remove top freezer door, remove plastic cover from hinge, at left or right, above door, remove top hinge, tilt door slightly forward and lift off, be careful with spacers between door and hinge, you have to put back spacer between door and hinge to get proper alignment. put door on flat surface, lift rubber and check underneat, you will see screws or plastic clips, if there's screw, make like 3 or 4 turns with screwdriver, dont completely remove screw, if you don't have, don't know what type of ref. you got, remove old door gasket, replace new one, and put it back on. good luck.

Freezer door hard to close

Any adjustment is at the hinge, you probably find that you have fitted it too close and it is pinching the gasket in the corner. Tilting the fridge back can help, but the doors must be able to swing closed freely first. This can be done by adjusting the footing screws below the front of the fridge.

Freezer door

If you have the tilt door, the hinges on it are just like that of a oven. You would put it on the same way you would your oven door. If it is not a tilt, there is hooks that go on to the side rails and two screws to hold it in place.
