Hi You can Try

Same old Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Cause Action Movement of the Holder is blocked. Clear the paper jam or foreign object that is preventing the Holder from moving, then turn off the machine and turn it back on again. There may be an obstruction that is not allowing the Holder mechanism to move. Check for any obstruction (paper clip, small object, etc.) and also that the protective tape are removed from the FINE Cartridge. Check also for a paper jam and clear the jam if necessary . Then press [Stop/Reset] and start again. The FINE Cartridge may be defective. Press [Stop/Reset]. Reinstall the FINE Cartridge (see Prepare the Machine ) and start again. In either case, if the error does not clear, try unplugging the fax. Wait several minutes, then plug it back in. Also, try replacing the FINE Cartridge with a new one. An error requiring servicing might have occurred. Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After a while, plug the power cord of the machine back in and turn on the machine. If the same error occurs, contact the service center.

I have a Canon MX700 printer unit, with a Error code 6000 and turning on and off will not correct error

Check the paper path for obstructions. Try running a thicker paper through to clear obstructions. If this does not work, you may have a defective paper sensor that requires service at a service center.

My canon mx700 keeps giving me error code 5100 HOW CAN IFIX IT I JUST GOT ABOUT S MONTHS AGO

This error indicates that there might be some obstruction in the rollers; could be tiny paper shreds so you need to check on that one. If there are no obstruction, then this error can be caused of the white sliding thingy that the printhead stays when the printer is not in use. This needs to be lubricated. Try to lubricate also the sliders with some grease so that the mehcanism can now slide freely. By doing this, you need to open the right panel of the printer. Unscrew the 2 screws to take it off.

Moreover, since this is just a months old printer, I'm sure it is still under warranty. It is still best to have it checked and avail the FREE service. Goodluck!

Canon mx700 5100 error

The 5100 error usually indicates a problem with the printer knowing where the printhead carriage unit is.

Chances are that when you cleared the jam you dislodged, damaged or otherwise skewed the little calibration strip at the back of the printer.

This strip is a clear bit of plastic that has lots of thin black lines on it and it's used by the printer to sense where it is.

If it's not that then it's most likely something jamming the printhead carriage somehow... ink soaked bits of paper are a favourite that I used to miss a lot.

Hope that helps.
