Question about Splendide 2000S Vented Washer/Dryer

Splendide 2000 dryer venting

I have cleaned the vent completely from outside the motorhome to the back of the dryer and it was plugged up pretty good, but I still have very little air coming out the outside vent and quite a bit coming out around the soap dispenser inside the motorhome. There is not enough air coming outside to lift the vent flapper. Is it possible for the vent to be plugged down inside the machine?

Absolutely. You need to pull the unit out. Not what you wanted to hear. It not a pretty job.

Splendide WD2100XC - The vent from machine to outside keeps plugging with lint. I cleaned it once - having to haul out the unit to do it, which was no easy task - and, now, within a few months of cleaning...

Maybe fan is not working properly, or restricted vent in the first place, causing it not to flow properly and lint gets hung up. Is vent hose fairly straight or does it go around a lot of curves?

My hotpoint electric dryer gets very hot in the back in one spot has turned a brown spot in that area

Hi, the most likely cause is that you need to clean out the vent from the dryer to the outside of the house. First check behind the dryer and make sure that the vent is not crimped, crushed or pinched in any way. If it is then replace the ducting from the dryer to the well. If it is venting poorly then it will get pretty hot, the brown spot may be in relation to the ducting inside the dryer. Turn the dryer on and go outside to where the vent comes out, there a good amount of air coming out. If not, and if the vent goes a long distance through the wall you will need to have a vent cleaning service out. If you are getting strong air outside and the clothes are drying fast then you may have a bad thermostat that is letting the dryer get to hot, in which case you'll need to have a tech out to look at it. Good luck.

Most recently, the dryer function is not drying

Run a cycle with the Dryer vent hose off. If the clothes come out dry, you need to have a duct cleaning company come out and vacuum out the duct.

We bought a used motorhome with a Splendide 2100 w/d combo. It does not dry the clothes, but washes fine. There was no manual on this appliance, so don't know how to find out the problem. Can you help?...

Your heating element could be out. This could be just a bad element or if you don't hear the fan come in the the dry cycle, the fan probably failed and caused the element to burn out. If your clothes are getting warm but not drying completely then you need to check your exhaust hose and make sure it is not clogged with lint.

Doesn't completely dry clothing

Make sure lint filter is clean and vent pipe and outlet are not clogged.  If the clothes are getting warm then the element is working.

Splendide Comb-o-matic 2000 how do you vent it to the outside

Use 2.5" plastic pipe & elbow to replace aluminum elbow & hose with spring inside. Air velocity is higher, lint blows out without collecting.
I used wood router to remove part of exhaust connector on rear of dryer to better fit elbow. Elbow interior was smoothed to prevent lint sticking. Elbow was mounted with silicone sealant and 2 screws. Pipe was glued to elbow as normal glued pipe connection. Pipe end was cut even with side of dryer.
After Spendide was installed in RV, a union was stuck in from outside RV. Union slides on to pipe without sealant so Splendide can be removed from RV. Union better fills outside vent fitting than bare 2.5" plastic pipe. Temporary seal aroung union was made of urethane foam scraps, common shipping stuff from a computer monitor box. After 2 years of temporary, the foam is now considered permanent.
Original problem was constant lint problems in hose and slow drying. With pipe, not hose, lint is rarely cleaned and drying is much faster.
