ATX power supply compatible with my EVO D500 Motherboard

I'm trying to find a compatible ATX power supply for the EVO D500 Motherboard. The HP/Compaq power supply won't fit in my ATX Case. I've been looking everywhere and can't figure this one out. Maybe there is an adapter or something...

No...actually there are 24 pins on the atx power supplies I have and 24 pin connector on the D500 MB. The thing is that the pins are wrong and I have no idea what ATX PS will power up this MB. The one from HP powers up the board and everything works[part # is 243890-001] but it doesn't fit in my ATX case.

it's the pinout of the motherboard is different than on the power supply. Check into is driving me crazy! Is there anyone out there that knows of an adapter or an ATX power supply that will power this MB?

Yes you are correct and I do have another MB on it's way...but I think this MB is still a good viable product. I'm hoping that someone knows of an adapter for an ATX connector to what ever this pinout isr. So far only you and jon has replied. Keeping my ears and eyes open...thanks!

I think the connector on the motherboard is an WTX connector, so if I'm correct it looks like I need an ATX to WTX adapter.

I'm telling you...everything fits perfectly from the 24 pin connector to the 4 pin aux power connector. Its just got a different pinout...need an adapter...can you help?

I'm guessing that the system my motherboard came from would be the mini-tower.

Their are 4 different D500 models: I was attempting to look it up to see the wattage of the power supply and rto see if ti was a common ATX one. If so their are many many power supply at places like   and   for example, that are externally different sizes. It aseem the lower wattage ones seem to be smaller.  Which part does not fit? The clearence for the CPU heat sink or the length or what?

I did find that you MB has a special pin layout , and lots of listings for replacemets vis E-bay but probably cheaper to just replace the mb with a standard P4 replacement for around 50.00

I am assuming you already rebuilt this in a new case.

Hmmm 24 pin atx PS, 24 pn on MB are you trying to plug it in backwords ? I've never seen a atx power suppy that won't work in a hp/compaq machine

Is your case a atx mid or full?

Are you reffering to the fact that most new PS come with a 24 pin main connector ?

If your motherboard is wtx connection , pretty sure that there are 2 ports in it. the 24 pins and the 22pin. so maybe you need a WTX power supply which is availbale today. this is tha example (

maybe you can find a PSU for your stuff in that link.

may this help,

Check that you hooked up all the power supply connections. Try a new motherboard battery as the old one may be dead and the bios is not working. You are evidently not getting a post beep signaling that the cpu, ram, video are good.

Uatx motherboard in mini atx case

Probably however if you upgrade the motherboard you will have to upgrade the CPU, and the memory, possibly the hard drive if the old board is IDE and the new is sata. Also you would have to upgrade the power supply if it's so old it may not have sata power connectors.
