Question about Westinghouse 25.5" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD HD Monitor

1 Answer

Big black image on the screen

I just took this out of the box and hooked up and at bottom of screen is about a 6 inch high by 2 inch wide solid black feather or surfboard shaped image. I can barely feel a slightly raised seam going through the middle. I guessing its defective right out of the box. Any ideas?

Thanks.

You need to put it back in the box and return it. That is tearing.. The inner layer of your LCD screen is ripped. There is not fixing this.

two things you can do, first right click on your windows screen and look for "settings" this will open a dialog box where you can set the screen resolution. Set it lower and see if your screen is now filled. if that doesn't work go into the monitor setup (buttons on the bottom or side of the monitor) and try to set the verticle and horizontal size, since its only 3/4 of an inch you should be able to stretch the screen to fill up the space.

Solid 2 inch wide yellow bar from top to bottom of monitor always visible, never goes away

Could be a couple things, possible bad video card, bad cable, bad monitor, or configuration issue.

Do you have another computer you can hook the monitor to and see if it has the same issue? If so then it is either the monitor or the cable. If it does look the same on both computers you could try a new monitor cable (as long as the monitor allows you to easily disconnect the one currently attached).

Please let me know what you find.

Definately a damaged screen, no way to fix it for less than the cost of a replacement screen sorry.

There are 2 inches of black space on both sides of my screen.

There should be a way to go into the screen settings on the set (either from the remote or on the bottom of the screen). From that menu you can adjust the size of the screen, stretch it, align it, etc.
