Question about GE DWXR483EBCC Electric Dryer

1 Answer

My GE Heavy Duty Dryer won't start

It kept on cycling and we stopped the cycle. Now it will not start. There is power to the dryer, there is not a tripped thermal fuse and the door switch is o.k. Any ideas?

Dryer worked fine on load "A" and stopped at the end of the cycle. Normal operation. We put load "B" in (dryer had sat long enough to be cool) and dryer would not start. Cycle timer is "ticking" when you set it, so I assume that it is working. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Check to see if you can spin the drum fairly easy. Also, try to leave the door open, hold the door switch in, and then start the dryer and give the drum a spin to see if it starts.

GE heavy Duty 5 cycle dryer. Dryer will not turn on when start button is pushed. No noise from the dryer what so ever .

More than likely the door switch has failed.
If the switch does not register when the door is shut it will not start even when you push the start button.

Turn off the electricity to the dryer.Try spraying the belt with automotive belt dressing inside that goes around the bucket.. If that does not work it is probably the bushing at the back of the dryer. you will have to remove the bucket to grease the bushing.if it is still good. judging by your details it seems good. But it could be dry.Needs lubrication.
