Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook
My daughter's 5 month old Acer Aspire (free from AOL) running Vista basic has been working fine, but the screen now keeps going black with a flashing white cursor at the top left. If she Alt-Ctrl-Del's once it just restarts, but then goes back to the black screen.
After leaving it alone overnight it lasted 15 minutes then black screened again.
She has not updated any drivers or installed anything but the normal Windows updates, and doesn't use Limewire or anything dodgy.
Coud it simply be overheating? She does tend to have it on almost all the time.
If it's only 5 months old, then it's still under warranty. Right now, I'd advise taking it back to have it fixed instead of taking it apart to replace hardware and possibly voiding a warranty.
