Question about Toshiba Satellite 4000CDT Notebook

Stuck on logo screen

I was given a old toshiba satellite 4000 cdt i have no diskettes for it.
when i turn it on it goes to a black screen with the toshiba logo on it.
bbut will not do anything else i know nothing about it what was loaded on it or what was done to it.
looking for some help.

Get a new hard drive of ebay or something and reinstall windows

Please remove the battery and wait for 30 sec, after that insert the battery back and turn on the machine

I have the toshiba satellite L35, when i turn it on the red toshiba logo shows up but then after that it goes to a black screen that says a disc read error occurred


you may have lost your hard drive. always best to back up your files and os on an external drive. if you have a recovery disc try to boot it

Formatting problems.


Remove any 3.5" diskette from the diskette-drive in the computer.

Insert the Recovery Disk into the CD-ROM device.

Restart your computer, and *FORCE* it to *FIRST* try to "boot" from the CD-ROM drive, rather than trying to boot from the 3.5" diskette or from your C: drive.

try access the safe mode.. then remove the some virus or.. if you installed same latest program remove it then start again...


it you dont installed any program check the control pannel,, add and remove program remove all programe not neccesary...

Laptop monitor goes black


If you're working on the computer when that happens, it's not probably a power setting. Try to update your BIOS to the most current version at the toshiba support website (support.toshiba.com) & see what happens. Fixes the issue most of the time

change your flexible wire (vga) connected from board to the screen, also change your module, the module is at the rear of the screen.
