Try to open up the the mp3 player by taking off the screwes....(make sure that you are using a NON magnitized screwdriver) and remove the back and take out the batter and try to press the power button....then put the batter back in but dont put the back cover back on....now try to turn it on if nothing happens take the battery out press the power button then take out the next set of screws(they should be silver colored) then take all faceplate off then clean the inside of the buttons with que tips and rubbing alchol...(do not use the menthol rubbing alchol{may leave crystals behind that can hurn the mp3 playin in the long run}) then out the face plate back on and put the battery back in and press the power button...should turn on if not u have a bad connection somewhere with some of ur bottons.....

SOURCE: Sandisk e260 froze after power up.

sounds like a firmware program problem and will have to be replaced. You could download an updated firmware but you will have to get a pc connection.
After your device is plugged in, are you able to go to  "my computer" and see a drive folder that has your device on it.

Hi there

When you say the screen goes black even after disconnecting the device from computer it could be an issue with the firmware.
It might need to have updated firmware. To get the updated firmware please go www.sandisk.com.

Where you can get the latest firmware for your model.

My Screen/LCD does not work!!

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted. Best of Luck.
