Question about Dell 922 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Dell 922 leaves horizontal gaps whether printing or copying

I have printed alignment pages, cleaned the cartridges, even changed cartidges, but the problem persists with both the black and color cartidges. Printer is 3 years old, has been excellent; problem began without apparent cause in the middle of color and black cartidges' life. I don't suspect communication problems with the computer because the problem is also there when just making copies. (Latest color cartiridge is Dell; black was Dell, is now generic, all have the same problem.)

We are having the very same problem as evansandasso and are exasperated. We have had no problems printing until now. We have changed the cartridges, realigned and printed the test sheets. The horizontal gaps and misalignment still exists.

my problems are the same as posted earlier.

my french (language in the window) is not very good, but I think the message window says there is an alignment problem with the ink cartridge. Does anyone know how to adjust the alignment?

    Thx

I believe we have the same problem described by previous bloggers; horizontal full line skipping, or double-line blurred printing, ours will print a couple of lines just fine, then trouble, then print fine, then trouble. we have also replaced cartridges and ran aligning pages.....no remedy

Think we have the same problem? We first spotted fine horizontal white lines running through entire lines of text; mostly (not all) regular every couple of inches down the page. Over a couple of weeks these have progressively widened, now gaps of 2-3mm. No parts of printed letters are actually missing, it's just that the top half is separated from the bottom half, as though the paper was sometimes being fed down too far. Recently have also had lines being double-printed (partially overlapping). as though the paper was being fed down between passes on the same line (not sure if that is possible).
Exactly the same occurs during copying.
Things seem to improve if we force the print to photo setting. I assume more ink is used (and of course it is slower) so this isn't ideal.

SOURCE: Prints Blank Pages

I had a the same problems.

The Fix - Below where the cartridge ride on (side to side). There is a strip touch it is probably tacky with ink residue, it prevents the cartridges from moving freely. This causes friction and slows the printer down causing the errors.

Wipe it clean with windex. And that will clear all the issues with this printer.

SOURCE: Printing alignment problem

First thing to try is to remove the power brick (not just the cord the whole brick) from printer for a minute then re insert and try it again. If this doesn't help try uninstalling it then re installing the printer

SOURCE: Color printer won't print color

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

My computer is reading the printer, and it stating that ink cartridge is full but the page is blank after printing

The print-head part of the cartridge is probably clogged / dried up. Remove the cartridge and wipe with a link-free rag dipped in rubbing alcohol. Wipe several times until ink appears to be flowing from the print-head and reinstall. Do the alignment / and cleaning routines if needed and try to print.

X2250 won't print form pc

A technique to improve print quality is to try and clean the cartridge nozzles. You may clean the cartridge by following the steps given below:
1. Go to the "Lexmark solution center." This can be done by clicking on "Start," go to "Programs" and Lexmark printer group. Click on the "Lexmark Solution center." Next click on the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Clean and Fix Horizontal streaks." Click on "Print". This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge or cartridges from the printer.
3. Get a damp paper towel.
4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.
6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."
9. Repeat the "Clean Nozzle Page" one more time. If this fails to address the problem the entire procedure may need repeating.

Good Luck!!!!

Cartridge error code 1203

HI Don,

It's mean your catridges overflow even from brand new catridges after a several prints or right after you refilled the catridges. Check to see if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the catridge

Solution

Use the klennex with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contact on the holder and printer may work again.
The refill ink work very well if you let it sit 24 hrs. Then before you print anything, you should run aligned the catridges a couple times then run clean catridges a couple times.
Print the test page to see how it's look and way you go.
Be sure not to leave any debris of klennex on those holder contact panel.

My MP830 leaves white horizontal bands when printing black & white documents. Color printing seems fine. Pattern 'F' is missing on the print alignment page.

You need to continually clean and deep clean and realign the black until the results are acceptable. Try manual alignment if the auto does not work. Also clean around the exit hole of the black ink cartidge with a cotton bud and isoproyl alcohol.

Dell 922 AIO does everything except print from PC

Two things to try:

1. If it prints the alignment page, sometimes you have to put the page back on the scanner glass and hit continue or start on the printer for it to scan back in the alignment page to complete the alignment process

2. If thtat's not it, try going to add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall all dell pritner software, then reinstall using the link below:

Dell 922 printer alignment problem-

try this...

Aligning Ink Cartridges Your printer automatically aligns the ink cartridges when they are installed or replaced. To verify your ink cartridges are aligned, you can print an alignment page. After you close the printer unit, press the Menu button. The alignment page begins printing. During printing, the operator panel display reads Alignment Page Printing. When complete, the message reads Auto Alignment Complete. Your ink cartridges are now aligned for optimal print quality.
You may also need to align ink cartridges when characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin, or when vertical or straight lines appear wavy.
To align the ink cartridges:
  1. Load plain paper. For more information, see Loading Paper.

  2. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 922® Dell Printer Solution Center.

  3. Click the Maintenance tab

  4. Click Align to fix blurry edges.

  5. Click Print.

The ink cartridges align when the page prints.

If this helps you plz rate this fixya. Thank you kindly. If you need more help post it & I'll be glad to do what I can.
