I went to McCullochpower.com and they have a section for you to download a user manual, BUT you need to have the exact model number, I tried the one provided several different ways and couldn't get it. There is also a toll free number for a dealer that might be able to assist if you can't get it online. Good luck

How much slack should be in the chain

If you tug on the chain in the middle of the guide, the guide teeth should come out of the guide bar groove with a gap of about 1 - 2 mm (about 1/16 inch). This is from the Ryobi Users Instruction Sheet, please rate this response.

Brand new Echo cs-400 chain saw: The chain spins fast on idle. Should'nt the chain be stationary on idle?

The manual is available here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ECHO/CS-400-_E

The idle speed of the negine may be too high.
Page 26 of the manual gives instructions for adjusting the speed with the "T" screw on the carburettor.

Hi There, we've bought a SX62 Baumr-AG chain saw. On page 8 of the instruction manual - Point 3: "Install the attached spike to the power unit" - there is no diagram that refers to this...

I have just bought one and the manual is hopeless but finally I figured it out. If you have installed the chain and guide you will need to remove them, then with the saw lying on the side and chain cover off you will see two holes on opposite side of the oil tank/engine casing
This photo shows the spike in position. _173.jpg

Ineed to know what the fuel to oil ratio is for

Run 30:1 or 32:1. With modern synthetic oils, you could probably get along with 40:1 without trouble (and a lot less smoke). Good luck!
