Have you tried all HDMI inputs, and if so, have you tried a different HDMI cable? It could be the DVD player, the cable or the input of the tv.

Too many variables with what you are describing here. How old is the TV and how old is the DVD player. Did you verify that the components were all plugged in to their corresponding colors....blue to blue, red to red, green to green. Is the RGB cable verified good. Another common mistake is to plug the video jacks into ex. VID 1 while the Audio is on VID 2. Make sure they are on the same numbered input and that the TV is on the input your jacks are in. The HDMI may not work because there are three different HDMI types and not all play well with each other. The problem can be fixed with an HDMI converter but gets into more cost. Eliminate above mentioned and repost. I would be glad to troubleshoot you through this.

Turned my tv on and for some reason the DVD source is in black and white and controller not workin for it, TVs colour for other outputs and controller works only DVD that doesn't .

If you're using component cabling (red, green, blue cables) a black and white picture will occur when only the green cable is plugged in.

If you're using HDMI cabling, try a different HDMI port and see if your color comes back.

If not, unplug the set from power for a few minutes, plug it back in and see if problem persists.

If you still have the same problem, check the DVD player on another TV. If it shows color on a different TV, then your TV will need a replacement digital board which we can check availability on once we have a specific model number. If it's black and white on a different TV, then you have a problematic DVD player.

When connected via HDMI, get picture filled with wrong colors - oranges, reds, blues; when connected via Component or Composite - works fine

You can ofter setup HDMI on your devices in different modes, for example my old tv had options that i could change RGB and other settings for hdmi. try looking in the settings of the DVD-player and see if you have hdmi options

The screen shows a green/ orange screen, even when we play a DVD... How can we make that go away?

How is the player connected to the TV? It could be S-Video, HDMI, RCA, or Component Video cables. My guess is that you're using component video cables. There will be three wires that carry the video signal to the TV, and each wire carries one color. There will be a blue, yellow, and green cables. If one of these cables is not seated properly, it can cause only one or two of the three color signals to make it to the TV, causing the image to be discolored. You should check the connections of the cables. You'll also see the sound cables, probably red and white. Do not get the red video and the red sound cable mixed up!

Try a different HDMI cable. Check the on screen menu when this happens to see if it looks normal.

Try a different cable other than HDMI, another HDMI cable, or another DVD player to narrow it down.

Dvd color mostly blue and pink, colors look weird

try connecting thru an hdmi cable from your dvd player to your tv, check the colors then.. I'd say you have crossed your component cables.. match the connector letters a/b/x? and plug them in one after each other.
