It would be best to know the brand of computer and model #, or if its a custom built the brand of the motherboard, and model #

You can use most any DDR including DDR 333 (2700) or even DDR 400 Mhz, as they just scale down to the lower speed.

the motherboard determines the amt of memory, how many slots, and max size in a slot the motherboard will support , so to max out, or give you best advice please list more info.

I should think that will be ok but why restrict it to 512 when you can have 1024 mb

I don't have mother board cd of compaq amd athlon(tm) LE 1660.

If that is a Compaq Computer then you will need to go to the Compaq Website and enter your model number and operating system and you will see the list of available drivers for download. AMD only provides drivers for their products and you won't need drivers for the CPU so you won't need to go there. Your second best option, unless you put a different sound card in the computer than the one Compaq put in it, will be the website for the sound card manufacturer.

Processors don't need drivers. Drivers for your motherboard come from the motherboard manufacturer in most cases, unless you have a name brand computer in which case the come from the computer manufacturer.

HOW CAN I UPGRADE MY SYSTEM

it depends on how big the ram and the hd is. the bigger the hd and ram the more expensive it is except for their transfer rates. if your planning on upgrading because of games, you will need atleast 7200 rpm for the hardisk which costs more than a typical one. but for all i know thats the default for a desktop. there are 10,000 rpm also which are more expensive than the bigger hd's. same with the RAM. you can check ebay for the price. but the price depends on the country you are in if your buying it from your place.
