Question about Apple MacBook Mac Notebook

IBook (Where is the Video Card)

My iBook will go on and it shows the Apple logo and when it has finished loading, there is only a blank blue screen. Nothing works, and it will not load my Restore disks or tell me anything when I run my Hardware disk.   I was told it my be a problem with the video card.  Could this be a hard drive problem or a logic board problem.  Help!  M.

I ran the OS Install discs, nothing gets installed as the screen returns to blank blue.  I ran my Hardware Test disc and nothing shows up on screen.  I have no other Utilities disc.  The keyboard doesn't respond and I had to open the disc holder manually (using a pin).  I was told by one of your experts that it might be the video card or the motherboard.

I am assuming you know how to load CDS ... so I'm wondering if you can start this machine in Firewire Target Mode. Doesn't sound like video card. Have you reset the PMU? Look on Apple for procedure for your machine.

This could be logic board but it could also be OS image related.
Have you tried running disk utility and verified/repaired the image?

If you are getting a blue screen, you computer has loaded into the User files, you user files are corrupted and are causing this problem. Having a known good drive to start off of, you can fix this problem rather easily.

Try with Safari or Firefox. If still no pages loading then your Airport is not connecting to the Internet. If you are using a cable modem contact your ISP for assistance.

IBook Won't Do Anything

Sounds like you may just have a bad video card. Try to remove the bottom panel and remove and reinstert the video card and thememory if this doesnt work then you have a bad mohterboard and I would say just dump it. Motherboards run anywhere from 350 and up plus tech fees. Very expensive. If this helped please rate. Thank you

My ibook g4 has a blue screen when it comes on

It appears that your system is corrupted or the hard drive is damaged. Try re-installing the system software from the CD by holding down the C key during start up. Then run Disc Utilities to check the hard drive.

Blank screen upon powering up

First try resetting the PRAM - Hold Command + Option + P + R until u hear a chime.

If that doesn't work, apply firm pressure about 1 inch below the option + command and start the iBook, it takes the iBook to turn on the screen approx. 30 seconds.
