Ice machine and water not working properly after changing filter
This is a Kenmore side by side model #106.53664300 serial number SP333208 manufactured 08/2003. After changing the water filter the ice maker no longer is making ice. Water is available but will not cut off immediately once the glass has been removed from the lever.

If the water continues to leak when the ice maker is shut off its the water solenoid usually found on the back side of the refrigerator. If not then its the ice maker timer. For either repair you'll need make model and serial number to get the proper part.
The first thing I woulb check is the water filter itself. Water comes into the machine via the water valve, and from the valve it goes to the filter and the to its respective area, dispensor or ice maker. It's a very rare case that both the ice maker and water in the door stop working at the same time other than the filter being bad,
If it does fill with water, but does not eject the ice cubes to start a new cycle, I would suspect the ice maker motor(Item 37). BUT if it is the motor, that part costs $91.22 and you can replace the entire ice maker (Item 100) for $157.95
I am working through Sears Commercial Parts Direct and I cannot find that correct model number. Double check. Filters do not suddenly stop flow. Water control valves yes and when you have an ice maker the water valve has two sides. Water control valves are located most times on rear of refrigerator and near floor where the house hold water enters the refrigerator. Sometimes hiding behind a paper cover. Your number really looks good to me and I was surprised that it will not work. Double check and correct that number and I will be able to assist you better. In a way I wish Sears would not change the numbers. The 525 in the number is who made your model and 525 does not come up. Sea Breeze
