TV will not turn on, fans run. When powered blinks green for 15 or so, then solid of seconds and then 5 red blinks. While at rest 4 red blinks - dark - 4 red blinds - dark ....
If you are positive that the fan is still running and that it isn't an over heating issue, I would venture to say you need a new dlp lamp. Your model uses a Sony XL 5100 dlp lamp. You can grab one over at DLPLamps.com.
Five blinks - AKB
circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks
for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function.
Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761
and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on
the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning
up screen A2 slightly.

I check a couple of times, each time I power the tv both of the fans in the rear rotate as would be expected. I see no indication of the lamp coming on. We've had this issue in the past, unplugged and it would go away for a while. How do I examine the lamp?
I have the same problem. Turn the TV on and the green light starts flashing then goes solid green. Moments later, power/Standby light starts blinking red. 4 blinks pause, 4 blinks pause and so on
Standby blinks red 5 times (after the power green light blinks).
Are you certain that all the fans continue to run? This model has had issues with the exhaust fan. Its the large one that's visable through the rear vents of the TV. They can be intermittent. Does the lamp start to light or come on at all? Have you examined the lamp for physical defects?
