Question about Philips 55PW9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Philips 55PW9363 need convergence grid dimensions

I want to tune in the green geometry of my 55PW9363. I know that a grid template is required. I'd like to make one, but don't know how to determine the measurements of the grid. Can anyone supply the measurements?

Thanks.

    Good suggestion, very practical.
I guess I am still interested in making the grid template, as much for the education as for the results.
I had to replace the convergence amps and a couple of resistors because the red amp failed. After replacing the parts, I noticed that the green geometry is not "perfect," though it is not terrible. I'd like to tune the green in, then match the red and blue to it.

You may not need a template as long as the geometry has not been totally lost or corrupted. How is the image in red and blue? If any of the three convergence/CRTs has good geometry, you can align the others to it. You can simply cover over any CRT whose image you wish to block out while you are aligning the others.

What are the default geometry values for 480P and 1080i FULL modes?

If you have the model listed have fun----Geometry values are depicted in the Convergence section---the grid of GREEN lines determines geometry and red and blue are then adjusted to the Green.

Primitive: Set had at one time two overlays available--clear plastic you attached to screen to line the that Green grid up against---one for 480 and one for 1080.

Once the geometry is set (best possible) you must align convergence and save it in both the modes one at a time.

By current standards a Fred Flintstone system--but in its day a real pain as alignment can take many hours with the correct remote via the tech menu for convergence.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Philips 55pw9363 factory default settings

Yes,there is almost always a way! you will need the CD ROM literature for your model--it will list the normal range of settings. My reserved question is what caused the overscan and why did you decide to go in the servicer menu to "fix" the problem???? You may have some convergence issue, also.

Philips 55PW9363 Service Menu - Geometry settings help, picture shifting at times???

If you are doing the labor you should wait and replace the new part and while you are at it check for loose conections in the horizontal drive circuit since all symptoms might be related, but they are doing all the work they should address all the problems you have, settings in the service menu dont just change on their own and are adjusted only when a major comp[onent has been change like the convergence.
