Here's a tip that I find really helpful - stick a thin plastic comb between your scalp and the curling iron. It will stop the iron from getting too close to the scalp.

Need instructions on how to use product!

the glove is a heat protective styling glove so you can touch your hair without burning your hand. It is pretty easy to burn yourself because it is so hot. try watching the TiGi videos on YouTube. For a more wavy look I keep my hair around the curler for a couple of seconds and then I run my fingers through.

How do I know what heat to set my hair straightener to? I am worried I will damage my hair.

Buying an iron with variable heat settings is really important as it gives you control.

If you have hair that is fragile, fine or color treated, you should set the heat below 200 degrees otherwise you are risking burning or damaging your hair.

If you have curly, coarser type hair, you can set the heat higher - around 200-300 degrees.

But never go above 400 degrees no matter what you hair type is like.

Does anyone have any good tips for straightening hair? I am new to this.

1. Make sure your hair is dry
2. Use oils
3. Prep the flat iron at the right temperature
4. Straighten your hair with your overall style goal in mind
5. Brush don't comb!
6. Add volume

My daughter has a very square shaped face. When she gets her hair cut in the styles that she likes, it must makes her look even squarer. Anyone got any style advice?

Does your daughter have bangs? I find that wispy bangs can help to soften a square face. Avoid cuts with straight bangs and very straight or symmetrical styles as this just accentuates the problem. Anything wavy or wispy should help.

Chi Flatiron Repair Fix it Yourself User Photos

Most appliances come with manuals that give you company contact information. My guess is the iron is out of warranty. As irons have high voltage components, do it yourself is not advised. Staying alive is better than fixing an iron. That said, the above link even tells you how to take it apart. I have a hunch that good parts would have to come from another broken Chi iron. And where would you get that! Maybe someone on the above link can be contacted. Alas, you simply wanted a reliable business that might check this out. I doubt you want to pay a technician for his time in taking this apart. I wish you well.
