Had the same problem. Charge your battery overnight. Then remove your battery. Then put it back in. See if it powers up. Just keep doing this removal/replacing. Sometimes you may get a battery image with a slash through it. Sometimes you just get a dark screen. Keep doing it and it may come back to life.
If it does, get all of your information copied. Because it will happen again. And eventually, the above fix is ineffective.

If you you are experiencing white screen and nothing changes even after doing a hard reset you may want to call or contact HTC support. Be sure that it is still cover by their one year warranty. Coz having a white screen might caused of a lot of things like infected by virus, water incident, mobile phones has a physical damage. Check as well the lcd of the phone. try to get in touch with them with the link below.
try these steps. 1.. borrow same battery from a friend and insert it to your phone and switch on. 2. borrow same type of charger and charge your phone and wait to check. 3. else, try, inserting your battery to your friend's phone and check if her phone will power on, but be sure to let him know of your problem, so she or he may be aware of it. , hence, just do step 1 and 2, 4. go to your nearest service center and have them check your phone.
Remove the battery immediately. Take a vacuum and hold over the open battery compartment for about 15 minutes. Do the same on the front keypad for 10 minutes. (Use a vacuum to draw the moisture OUT. If you use a blow dryer you can force the moisture further into the unit.)
Place the entire open phone down into a bowl of uncooked rice for 24 hours. insert the battery and recharge. It's been know to work, but like I said..no guarantee. Good luck
