Hitachi 43fdx11b green wave on top left and center
First the blue wouldn't move, so I changed both ic's and 6 resistors, then the tv worked great for about 10 minutes. Then it got a green wave on top left and center. The green convergence crosses seem to have ''dropped'' on those two locations about 3 inches, and now it has a green wave that I can't fix. I rechecked all my soldering and it looks fine. What could this be?

Its likely that you did not find all the resistors that were damaged when the original failure occurred. Now you must re-replace the ICs and locate the other damaged resistors. Check all, including those you just replaced. Use a good ohm meter and be certain that all the resistors are gold band tolerant(5%) and of the exact resistance value and wattage.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large
IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both,look for any
burned resistors near them,replace those if needed,and readjust your
convergence. Good Luck
Well you've done everything pretty well so far. However it sounds like to me you missed one of the resistors necessary to wrap this up. Down by the STK's are three connectors going to each of the yokes, red, green and blue. Locate the one for blue and follow the traces from the connector to the large wattage resistors like the ones you've already changed. One of them affecting blue vertical is probably open. If you have an ohm meter check those resistors after you disconnect the plug going to the yoke. that because those resistors are in parallel with the yoke windings and thus mess with the measurement of the resistors.
Replace the convergence ICs and feed resistors. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link with installation instructions. you have a failed IC resistor usually you can physically see the bad one because it burns out leaving you to guess what the value was. Hitachi offers a convergence fix kit which has 2 IC's and all approiate resistors.
I would change both ICs STK392-110 and also the 3.3ohm 1 watt resistors and the 1.8 ohm 1 watt you would need 2 of each resistor. Then your convergence would be new again. This is the most common fault in all makes of rear projection TVs.
Some models of TV require major disassembly and considerable
shop/manufacturer's support to repair because of their design that causes other
power supply or vertical deflection problems. The poorly designed products
require a "bench" repair that can typically cost from $350 t0 $700.
Some TVs are designed for on-site repair and have more reliable circuit design
that does not usually cause damage to other parts of the TV when convergence
chips fail. The ones that usually allow reliable on-site repair are JVC,
Samsung and Hitachi.
It is normal to have some resistors in the circuit burn up or increase in value
from the heat (from 2.2 ohms to 5 or 10 ohms). These resistors must be replaced
with the right value or the chip may fail again.
This is not a simple repair like changing batteries or a fuse. Reading
through the other posts shows many that try and end up with bigger problems.
Your JVC uses STK 392-110 IC's. Misinformed people replace the IC's with
other "new and improved" IC's, like STK 392-150. These are
devices with different characteristics and require different value resistors in
the circuit.Replacing with the STK
392-150 will cause overheating of the resistors and a damaged IC.

I had the same problem on my Hitachi rear projection TV 53FDX20B made in Mexico. The blue convergence problem. Blue focus had shifted and appeared like a blue ghost image. I followed the step by step intructions from the fixya site. First Replaced the two STK 392-110 ICs and turned on the tv. No change. Then I went looking for the bad resistor. There was one resistor RK50 (2.7 ohm, 1Watt capacity) which is attached not right close to the printed circuit board surface but was well raised up from the board. The bands on the resistor were a little discolored. I replaced that one and turned on the tv. The convergence problem was solved. Thanks for the step by step instrucitons on your site.
