Philips HTS-8100/59 - Locks up trying to enter Low Power Standby

Unit is a Philips HTS-8100 Cineos Soundbar - works fine normally, powers up and enters standby via remote control, plays DVD etc.
Problem is if unit is left on unused for a while, it appears to try to enter low power standby but locks up -

Display shows ' ENTERING LOW PWR STANDBY ', but unit remains on with LEDs all fully lit.

I've found no way of getting out of this, only pulling out the main power plug for a minute and rebooting unit.
???? Is there any fix for this, and have many other people got this problem ???

SOURCE: where can i buy the htd7001 ipod docking station

susan3846@aol.com email me if you still want to buy Philips iPod docking station. I just came across one in a box of misc. electronics I bought at an auction house in Phoenix, AZ. I can use eBay and list it as a private auction. I don't have anyway to test it. I would refund $ it did not work.

My Philips Htl2160 soundbar just quit working after I tried to upgrade the firmware! It won't light up that it's getting power! I disconnected everything and reconnected, but still nothing! Any ideas?

Updating firmware is dangerous as it configures the part before the software loads. If the firmware update fails or the power cuts it renders the item inoperable as you have found. You will have contact Phillips for either a replacement unit or for a zipped firmware file to reload again.

Standby mode

If you have your soundbar connected via HDMI, look for an option to disable the link between your TV and your soundbar (when this option is on on the devices connected toghether, when you turn off/on any of them automatically does to the same with all devices).

Philips Home Theater - Annoying high pitch sound while on standby

I have the same problem with the same model, so obviously it's not a single-unit problem. My only solution, since taking it back isn't feasible at this point, is to have a DVD on play-pause so that it's not on standby. Waste of energy, so I don't do it all the time, only when I'm sitting in the room late at night making the high-pitched noise hard to ignore.

Reset my soundbar

Amp is probable going into protection mode. Disconnected all speaker and av wires (only power) and check if it switches on. Try to plugged it in also at another wallsocket. Presume PSU damaged by surge

Subwoofer light

The subwoofer light stays red regardless of the state it is in despite it being labled a standby light. (It's more of a power on light) It seems that philips missed the point of what a standby light is.

I would have expected the light to have changed colour to indicate that the unit was operational and perhaps syncing with the receiver box.

Its not designed to play HD DVDs, the model has HDMI connection in order to connect to latest output devices, viz flats panels and LCD tvs there by having a common audio and video cable. your model has a feature to upscale the normal DVD singal to match the quality output of hull HD TVs, hence the HDMI out put, do not confuse this with HD compatiability.

Go to the link below to check the full specs of your system.

though yours is a high end set, but its not HD disc compatiable.
