Question about Sharp Multi-System Mini Component System Shelf System
I have a mini-component system, cd-c472, that won't recognize or play cd's. I think I may have confused the player's computer system by trying to play an mp3 disc a few years ago. It made the whole system act strangely, and eventually stopped playing cd's. The carousel rotates through all three locations when I insert a cd, and then the cd player displays "NO DISC" Is there some way to reprogram the cd player? Thank you
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I did solve the problem; instead of spending time online looking for a user's book, I tore my house apart and found the original one. Thank you for your response.
To set the clock for the Sharp CD-C472:
1. Power switch off
2. Press CLOCK button.
3. Within 3 seconds, press MEMORY/SET button.
4. Press TUNING/TIME to select time mode (12 or 24 hour)
5. Press MEMORY/SET button.
6. Press TUNING/TIME to select hour.
7. Press MEMORY/SET button.
8. Press TUNING/TIME to adjust minutes.
9. Press MEMORY/SET button.
Please note, your "solution is valid for" choice forced the Sharp CD-C401 selection BUT THAT IS NOT ACCURATE THIS SOLUTION IS SPECIFIC TO THE CD-C472.

Try this CD realignment process built into the Sharp XL HP505: Have unit off.
Hol down the square (stop) button and the X-BASS button while pressing the ON button. This starts the CD TEST. press play, the memory, then memory, memory, memory, adjustment lights will come on the screen. FOF, TOF, TBAL, TGAN, FGAN, RFLS. press cd1 - track 4, press cd2 - track 9, press cd3 - track 15. Press square (Stop).
If all the cd trays are full, then will light up . This worked for me.

This is a relatively common problem when the optics get dirty. If you can reach the lens, try cleaning it using a cotton swab and alcohol. Don't bother with the "cleaning discs" available as all they can do is bruch off the dust. These lenses sometimes get a smoke or dirt film on them that the brushes can not celan.
Keep us posted.

had similar problem, first things first.........clean lens with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip. to do this, you will have to remove cover and likely the disc tray. worked for me.
