Hp psc 2179 all-in-one printer

The printer is clicking and won't print. It says it's scanner failure, and to turn the power off, then on again. I have done this firstly from the machine, then when that didn't work, from the mains plug. Please advise.Thank you.

I finally got on to hp.com who rectified the problem. There was no appropiate answer on your page, unless I was willing to pay for it.

The scanner stay hang and makes a noise. (click click)You can not makes copies. The printer say: scanner failed, stop it and try again. Sometimes can i make copies, but the most times not.

I need to know how to remove the top section. My scanner has exactly the same problem (2179), clicking and then reporting "scanner failure". Probably something as simple as a bad contact on a microswitch or dirt on a sensor (so the scanner can't find its "home" position). One screw is accessible but the other is hidden under the control panel and there is no (obvious) way of removing this without using a hammer. Or do I have to drill a hole through the top cover?

Using the instructions found here

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00553775&dlc=en&product=90809

I opened the scanner and found that the cold-cathode lamp is failing. Moving the optical assembly away from its home position (to the middle of the scanner) allows the unit to initialize so at least the printer works.

I'll investigate availability of replacement lamps.

Can't cancel a HP PSC 750 Printer print job.

Hi,
Right click on MyComputer and click Manage. Then go to Services and Applications and then Services. Find the Print Spooler services in the list and right click to stop it. When it is stopped try to cancel the document again. Then start the print spooler service again.

My hp psc 750 will print from my computer, but I cannot make a copy. It keeps saying, "Scanner Failure. Turn off and on again." I have done this several times and it still will not make a copy.

It automatically print a page everytime I start my hp psc 1315

Hi Siddarth

In HP PSC 1315 printer after replacing new Ink Cartridges the printer always prints Alignment test page every time you turn it ON.To resolve this problem you must complete the alignment process.

Steps

1.Turn the printer ON.
2.Once its ON, it will print the Alignment page. Place the page in the scanner bed correctly.
3.Then Press START SCAN button.
4.The power light will start blinking, wait until the power lights turns solid.
5.Now Alignment process is over.Discard the paper from scanner.
6.Turn the printer OFF and then ON, it will not print that page again.

Note:Please follow this steps every time when you replace the Cartridges.

Thanks

Scanner failure during the initalization/starts up.

Sound as if your scanner is broken..
Could be something in there stopping it from moving, the motor could be bad.
It might have Home Positioning errors, causing this error.
To get it Fixed? The machine is about 140 dollars on Amazon?
The company I work for, the first hour is 125 (I do not know how much it cost to repair these)
Unfortunately these little ink jet printers are not designed to be repaired. They are considered throw away.
Sorry

Scanner Failure

The only thing I can surgest is that you check installed programs I found that the 750 is very fussy about being the only kid on the block. Maybe worth trying a commercial program that says it will remove "junk" from your hard drive

Copy on my 2179 hp all-in-one

Hi Simoandson, The scanner failure message usually occures when the scanner bulb is not getting heated properly or the scanner bulb is defective. We can check with the issue by connecting the printer direcly to wall outlet and then lift the scanner lid and press scan or copy button and check for the scanner bulb is lit and scanner machinisum is moving fine under the scanner bed.. There is also a Firmware update released by HP that can be downloaded and installed to fix the issue: Here is the link: ========= http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=oj-14037-3&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=90809&os=228&lang=en ======= Just click on the link and in the download webpage click on the download only button and select save to save the download to the computer and once the file is saved make sure that the printer is turn on and connected fine and click on the file to install the firmware update to the unit If the issue still presists try to performe the steps in the below webpage: =========== http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00787271&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1138346&dlc=en&lang=en ======== Hope this will help you to fix the issue Regards, Barret.
