Question about Philips 27PT643R 27" TV
Can u help me?
Not over a month ago I bought Philips 26pfl3512 LCD TV.
After a while when I turn to some of the channel I hear couple of loud discharges that seems to come from power supply.
I took TV to certified servicer at 2 occasions but they told me that everything is alright and that must be problem with cable TV provider.
Earlier TV model did not have any similar problem.
So now I can not watch some of the channels because of this unnerving sounds.
Do you know what could be a problem?

The "certified servicers" should have been able to identify a power supply that is breaking down at random. At random failures only occur when the TV is in your home, never in the shop. :-}. Eventually the power supply will fail completely and will have to be replaced.

We had this problem with a 28PW6515. The control would work for 30 seconds after switching on, then nothing. It was diagnosed as the "glue chip" which handles all the control functions. About £200 to fix it as it's a surface mount chip.
