I have a Philips unit DVDr3320v linked to a TV. When I switch on the DVD/VCR the title screen comes on the TV screen but will NOT fire up the rotating disk icon and set the unit for use. Can anybody help?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Remove the top lid from your machine, next see if you can carefully remove the tape "without pulling" if it won't come out, cut the tape with scissors and make sure all tape particles are removed, sometimes by removing the defective tape the vcr will function. Now if it won't work after that point you probably have a mechanical issue which will require a repair shop.
Barbara,From your description of multiple problems there is, more than likely, a circuitry problem that is causing the unit to shut down. Unfortunately, this is not an easy fix and will require a trip to the shop. Get an estimate before approving repair. In the new world of disposable electronics the cost of repair may exceed the value of the unit. I just checked eBay and there is an identical model (Item number:300342819479) priced at a "Buy It Now" price of $44.00. So there is your answer. It would cost less to buy a replacement than to repair your unit. Like I said: "welcome to the world of disposable electronics"!!
U must make sure ur tv channels must work throught ur DVD and VCR unit. Then u can record it out the tv show programs.U must connect the tv air signal or cable to the DVD VCR unit in the antena port.Use another cable connect out on the DVD &VCR unit and in the tv signal input in ur tv antena input.Make sure u in the channel 3 or 4 switch desire back of the DVD&VCR of the back, and the tv correct to ur desire channel switch to 3 or 4 .U

Follow the basic recording instructions from p.32 of your user manual, and add this step:
Press RECORD (z) repeatedly to select the
recording time length. Recording starts after the
DVD: Each subsequent press increases the
recording time by 10 minutes.
It may havee a problem with the button you need to press to switch from VCR to DVD, from what i understand and have seen this switch over is not automatic. On your remote you should have a control to switch from VCR to DVD. In addition on your unit there should be a button to switch from VCR to DVD. Try this and let me know how it turns out, if you are still having trouble we can setup a troubleshooting session.
