IBM T60 problem

Hi guys
i have a T60 laptop from IBM
this is my third year having was good the first three years as i got it from the college.
this year they had to tok it and install vista
from there the problems started..............first they said that we must buy a ram for it and we did so.....then we must install lots of educational program which made my laptop crying to die........i deleted them all coz i don't need them...........then last week my laptop just started not working..when i log in it turs black...............the guys from IBM in our college said that they must change my motherboread and the battry..........when i tok it home afterwards it opend but i coun't hear any voice from i tok it back....they said the motherbored again -__-.....i said to them guys u change it yesterday but no comment and i was buzy and i didn';t have time to say anything..........i came back after three hrs and tok my laptop......i opend it there and it was working everything was working .........the weekend came and i didn't use it.......first day in the week i opend it at the first class it was the end of the day....well the screen was working but everything was this the problem wat should i do.......... my friends said that they must chage the motherboreds with a used one...i don't know wat to do i can;t take it another place coz its a college laptop

    oh thanx for the comment.

    i know....the thing is everytime i give it to them they make it worse and charge me a lot....and i need it coz it have all my work and we can't use another laptop....only if we bought a new one from them which i can't coz they sell it now more than before ........i will go back to them and this time i wont be claim........thanx again

Take it back to them since they are supposed to be taking care of the problems. When you pick it up, before you leave turn it on and let it run while you use a few programs to make sure all is well with it. If not, don't leave with it. Give it right back to them and tell them to get it right and give you a loaner until they fix it. Sadly, there is nothing we can do for you since it seems to be hardware related.

    PLEASE don't let them give you a device they claim to have fixed and then charge you to fix it again. Get your money's worth out if it and ask for the supervisor. You may even get a refund for some of the money you spent!

Power cord does not work

Does the power cord plug in to the charger seppertly or is it all in one unit, If it plugs in sepperately end your charger is still good just get a different cord for it,

I`m try to restore factory setting in my IBM T60 laptop but no software source found for clean install for win xp,download rescue 4 application but still remain the same,need help,thanks in advance

I do have a T60 as well!, love it! and the only way to restore as from factory is to install a fresh copy of the OS of choice (if original disk are not available) then, go to or and download the drivers that belongs to your pc. I hope that this answered your question!, Good Luck!.

To wipe and reload you don't actually have to log in. You just need to set first boot option to CD, insert the XP disk, and reboot the computer. All the steps from there on out are explained on the screen.

How to replace monitor screen on ibn thinkpad t60

I have the same problem with my IBM T60. Screen is very dark, and I have to move it up and down to try to get it to flicker on. Right now, I have another monitor plugged in.
The laptop is about 4 years old and has been used daily.
