Question about Combi Centre DX - Mango
We have an Ariston MicroGenus 27 boiler fitted in our house, the motorised valve is leaking, the leak appears to be coming from the upper casing, when I removed the electrical connection the water appears to be pooling through the 3 prongs on the motorised valve and running down the diverter valve body and dripping out of the bottom of the boiler.
Is it simply a case of unclipping the (now rusty) spring clip, removing the motorised head and replacing with a new part and spring clip or is there something more sinister going on? I'm assuming I will need to drain the system down before replacing the motorised valve?
Thanks in advance...
The leak is coming from a seal around the pin that the motor acts upon, the seal does not come as a replaceable part on its own, so the whole flow group as it is called will need to be replaced, approximate price 170 to 200 pounds inc vat, makers part no 998613. plus 2 or 3 hours labour of a corgi registered engineer. If your boiler is more than 6 years old and you have not had to replace the fan or other parts yet, then think about getting a new high efficiency boiler, it could be a better long term solution.
