Usually the battery in this unit will last about four years however if
you register your details with a valid email all BRITA products will
come with a 2 year manufacture guarantee... but should any part of it
break, we will send you a replacement part absolutely FREE
Don't
bother trying to replace the CR1616 battery yourself it is a
sealed unit and once the seal is broken you can replace the battery but
it will fail very soon with steam ingress even if you superglue it.!!
WR57X10026 This is the actual part number you need for this repair. You said you changed the valve but there are two water valves in the machine. The part number listed at the beginning is the kit that has both valves, and when you change the parts, make sure the water lines are connected in the correct spots.
I just figured out how to separate the two parts of the Brita Ultramax water reservoir so they can be cleaned!!! Empty the Brita of water. Whatever water is not removed through the spigot will drain out if you turn the filter upside down. Then let the two parts air dry for an hour or so. Now hold the two parts between the thumbs and middle fingers on each end, press your middle fingers against your thumbs. Then slide your middle fingers up, and the white part lifts out of the clear bottom! Yay!! Now the clear reservoir can be CLEANED!!
If the spigot means the end of the water tube in the water dispenser, and it steadily drips even if the dispenser is not used for 10 minutes or so - replace the water valve. If the dispenser drips water mostly wright after you used it - you might have some air bubbles in the refrigerator water tubing.
On the back and near the floor there is a water control valve. One side controls water to the dispenser and the other is for the ice maker. Need to test the one that goes to ice maker first by checking the solenoid coil with an ohm meter or put household voltage to it and it should open and send water up to ice maker. If not there then check the pipe coming into freezer from outside for freezing water in pipe. We will go further when you are ready. Let me know when you are able to do these things, I will be here, Thanks, Sea Breeze
