Dryer lint throughout thr house

We have an abornormally large amount of lint throughout the house that my wife is certain is coming from our maytag drier. She cleans the trap every time she runs a load, but it doesn't help.

I have the same problem. There is no tear in the vent hose etc. It also accumulates some areas more than others - Could it be related to air flow in the house - it reminds me of a fireplace that the flue isn't working properly.

How do you wire the dryer MDE300AYW

Instructions
    • 1 Remove the lint screen from the dryer. If you are unsure how to remove the lint trap, refer to your owner's manual, as removal directions vary among Maytag models.
    • 2 Use your fingers to remove large chunks of lint from the lint screen. You should remove the lint from the lint trap after every load.
    • 3 Run the lint screen under the faucet. Use hot water and thoroughly wet down both sides.
    • 4 Scrub both sides of the lint screen with a wet nylon scrub brush. Rinse the screen again under hot water to remove loosened buildup. Allow the lint screen to air-dry on a towel before putting it back inside of the dryer.
    • 5 Make a paste of powdered laundry soap and warm water into a small bowl. Use three parts powdered detergent to one part water. Stir with a spoon until a paste forms.
    • 6 Dip a soft rag into the paste. Wipe down the entire interior of the dirty Maytag dryer with the rag and paste. Apply more paste to the cloth as needed.
    • 7 Rinse the interior of the dryer with a damp rag to remove the paste.
    • 8 Dry a load of damp towels in the Maytag dryer. Run a complete dry cycle to remove any residue left inside.
    • 9 Wipe down the exterior of the dryer with a rag moistened with all-purpose household cleaner. You can also use the household cleaner to remove certain stains from the interior of the dryer. Make sure the cleaner you are using is noninflammable.

Everyday there is a large accumulation of dust balls throughout my home with wood floors--no carpet--the clothes dryer is in the garage and vented to the outside--I have 3 dogs that shed very...

Make sure the dryer's vent hose is in good condition and that the dryer is actually venting to the outside. Check the lint filter in the dryer for proper fit to the cabinet and is cleaned each time of use. Check outside near the vent shutter to see if a house air-exchange-intake is near this shutter. Do the dust balls show up only when the dryer is run? If you can't solve this problem, contact the builder or real estate agent to get this resolved.

My dryer heats, tumbles, but takes several cycles to dry a load(small). Not much air coming out of vent and have cleaned vent out.Any ideas?

The fan that pulls the hot air through the dryer and pushes the exhaust out through the vent hose is plugged with lint. You will want to remove the cover on the fan and manually clean the fan out. I had the same problem with my dryer, I was astounded by the amount of lint that was trapped in the fan.
Also look inside the cloths drum on the back wall and make certain the hole in that wall are not clogged with lint also. Use a flash light and make sure the hole are perfectly clean.
Good luck, clean it all out and let me know.

Is there supposed to be a hole on the side of my dryer

Well, though it be simple, you might clean the lint filter everytime you use it. Over time a dryer even with lint filter cleaned will still collect small amounts of lint inside it. You shouldn't worry much but you could call the maytag man to come and take apart the dryer and clean the inside. <;O)

Frigidaire dryer, lots of lint getting past screen.

Hello,
Here is a link to an exploded view and parts list for your dryer. http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php
If you are certain that the filter is not compromised or damaged and is properly seated into the housing , you may have a problem with the housing itself whereby lint is getting into the blower thru a break in that housing.. I would examine that area for damage.. and make sure when you reinsert the filter, it is seated all the way down.. Hope this helps you... BTW: over time, it is not unusual for lint to build up in the duct since some of that lint is smaller than the filter media and will work its way thru.. If you are getting that degree of lint build up very quickly then you may have a problem as mentioned above..
Regards,
Rick

Back panel removal

it is..remove bottom panel ..after unplugging from wall..remove lint screen next remove 3 screws holding the lint screen/blower housing in place ..clean out housing clean blower wheel with long brush or a long arm clean lint from base and on element housing on right side especially on top of the housing..that is the most important location if lint gets too thick on element housing ..fire hazard....ckd vent behind dryer and to outside if you find a large amount of lint .that is good indication of a restricted vent
