The fuse rating should be on the metal side of the metal ends of the glass fuse. Very hard to read amps and rating, may need a jewelers lupe. Or take the remains to Radio Shack.

The numbers around it are not helpful. Usually where the fuse is connected or plugged in there will be written on the board stating the amp such as 2amp, 3amp. Depending on the circuit it is in I would try a 4amp and see if it holds. I would not go higher than 5amp. If it blows you have other issues. Let me know how you do.

That's a start, you probably have a bad horizontal output transistor. It would be located around the high voltage transformer. It will be on a heat sink (flat transistor on a flat metal) usually has three leads and the board will have Horizout possibly on the board. There is a number on the transistor like S2055N you have to put it back in the exact way it came out, if you have soldering capabilities.

It took a lightening strike. is there a power reset on the unit?

Hi there,
There are two ways to do a reset on *********** board.

CMOS Jumper

1. Open your computer.
2. Look for a mother board jumper labeled as JBAT1, CLR CMOS, CLR TC or just a push button for a mid to high-end mobo. it should be placed near the BIOS or beside the CMOS battery.
3. It should look like this, as you can see there is a white triangle indicator and a number 3. The pins 1,2 are shorted, try to removed the pin and short pins 2,3.

4. Now put the jumper back to pins 1 and 2, it's all done. now you can go to bios and load defaults before you can change values.

CMOS Battery

1. Look for a 3v battery on the mother board.

2. Press the lock downward to remove the battery.
3. After removing the battery re install the battery. by doing this you have successfully cleared BIOS settings.

NOTE: 1. Check the fuse of your AVR if it is busted. replace the busted fuse with same rating.

2. Check your power supply. If it's dead try to fix it by replacing the fuse but it will require soldering tool and skills. 3. Your computer might still work but in my case the usb ports can only read flash drives after the lightning and the network interface card is busted.

Hopefully this information helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

I need to replace the seal AND the inner door glass on my Jenn-Air sve47600 range. Haven't found anything online that helps with the glass replacement. Another question: above the oven door (and...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The heating issue can be caused by the oven temp sensor that is bad and needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement. You can view this video for glass replacement:

My tv not coming on

Good day! i have read your question, there are many causes why your television is not turning on.1. from the external parameter check your tv plug if it is broken, if you new how to use a multitester you could do continuity test from end to end of the plug. 2. look for the fuse if is busted, again if new how to use a multimeter check for its continuity if not, you check its appearance. if the glass tube is clear and you could see the hairline wire intact the fuse is ok if is not it is busted. again be cautous in doing this. if the color of the busted fuse is clear you can try replacing it with a good one. if it is dark this means your power supply has short circuit, do not attempt to replace it because it might aggrevate the problem. try to seek for a professional service technician. i hope ihave help you in some way.

The home theather just stop working in the middle of a movie

Hello Sounds like the power board has blown. If you want you could take the cover off and look to see if there is a glass fuse it would be near were the power cord attaches to the circuit board. See if it is blown, if so replace, you may have had a weak fuse. But more than likely you have a defective power board, and the system will need to be service, or more economically replaced.
Thanks the Projector Guy

Busted power supply

You might as well buy a new power supply. There's no point in trying to go through the circuitry on it and testing every little component to replace it and then try to figure out the specs of it and then order the little piece whatever it may be.

My recommendation, buy a new power supply :)

Heard a pop then screen went blank. Now TV wont turn on.

Sounds like your fuse.

If not the fuse in your plug, then the internal fuse in the TV. to get too this you need to open the TV by taking off the back plastic panel and look at the fuse.

the fuse is the glass tube on the board, will no doubt be near where the power cord connects to the TV. and are easy to replace with another fuse. you will know soon as you open it if its blown as the little glass tube will be blackened or the little wire inside the tube will be missing or severed.

Fuses in TVs are actually designed to blow over time with ware (usually to last a bit longer then the warranty time frame) so after the cover has ended the TV can go in for repair work at extra cost. Its a little known fact.

What does fuse look like?

The fuse is usually a glass tube (automotive type) but the board is covered in a thick clear goo to protect the components on the board from moisture. The board will have to be replaced if the fuse is bad.
