Question about JVC GR-D295U Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I have the USB plugged into the computer and into the camcorder. The camcorder is "on". The PC does not seem to recognize tht the camcorder is plugged into the USB port. I plugged a flash drive into the same USB port to make sure it works, and the PC recognized the flashdrive (so it seems the USB port is okay).
What is the trick?
Do I have to transfer directly to the disc in the DVD burner? If so, how is that done?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

buy that wire, check ur camcorder if it has 6pin or 4pin for firewire then check ur pc if it has firewire card...if not you have to purchase the ieee1394card. install it then connect your camcorder to pc through firewire and that will be it.. u also need to have a software for video capturing and editing like adobe, roxio, pinnacle , etc...hope that helps.

I suggest getting the PCI IEEE 1394 also known as FireWire card. Most of the time these Firewire card comes with a Video editing software but verify because you will need some form of video editing s/w to record the video. After recording then you can edit it however you like and transfer to DVD/etc. Always a pain in the as to edit video. I've done it a couple of times. So have fun. I still have not manage to find a Video editing s/w that will do a 5.1 audio or multiple audio tracks (similar to switching between languages)
