Question about Kenmore 73952 Gas Dryer

1 Answer

Kenmore Heavy Duty 80 Series

The timer dial seems to have ''dead spots'' where the dryer will completely stop. I have to position the dial just right in no one certain space within the ''timed dry'' section of dial in order for the dryer to run. And it is never in the same place. And recently Im getting no heat at all. The dryer will run in any other section of the dial. Our dryer is about 12 years old.

Kenmore washer - water won't drain. It stops

If the water drains between the wash and rinse cycles, your motor and pump are probably OK. If this is a machine with a dial, try a different cycle, like normal instead of heavy duty. If that works and the machine completes the entire cycle then the timer probably has a bad spot. You might try to find a replacement timer if that is the case although I didn't have any luck with my 10 year old washing machine. Best of luck

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

Heavy duty super capacity plus Kenmore 80 series Electric drier the timer is running, but when I push the start button - nothing

the drum belt may be broken. you will have to check this, it goes around the drum and the pulley on the motor. you could also have a bad motor.

Kenmore washing machine will not drain

Replace the timer.
This is a neutral drain machine. If there is no natural pause in the timer at the end of the rinse cycle the timer is bad.
