Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook

Acer AspireOne Keyboard Already Degrading?

I have owned this Acer AspireOne ZG5 for only about 4 days, and already, the keyboard/mouse performance seems to be degrading. That is, the following problems seem to be more and more frequent:

1) keyboard input cursor jumps far away from current entry point, with no press of (for example) arrow keys; it is possible that it tends to go near to where the mouse cursor is (I am not sure).

2) once every few hundred key presses, a key auto-repeats 2-7 times (roughly), even when it was pressed only quite briefly

3) space bar (more rarely, another key) fails to respond to press

4) I get a mouse pad click (equivalent) when the keyboard is slightly flexed by the weight of my hand near the mouse pad, or even by a key press.

I have had similar symptoms on other laptops, but the reason I bought this one at Fry's was that at first, it seemed free of these problems. Now it is not so free. It is still within 15 days, so unless we know the Acer is plagued with such problems, it might be best to return it and get another one.

Check your mouse settings in control panel
and make sure they are correct
maybe they are set to sensitive
otherwise i would recommend setting back to factory settings
make sure ac power is plugged in when doing this.
I have the same pc and i have no problem like that.
let me know if this solved
if the problem persists after setting to factory settings i would return it for exchange.

Good day my friend. The only solution for that problem is for you to also buy a usb external keyboard. As of what we can see you have a defective built-in mouse and keyboard. If you want you could buy a silicon keyboard that not only can be folded but also can be weather proof. I was hoping that this would help you a little. Farewell friend I'm Naldz. Have a nice day.

Touchpad not responding in netboook

There's a little button right above the touchpad. If the light on this button is orange, the touchpad is disabled. Press it again until the light is white again and your touchpad should work.

Try booting your computer from CD ROM with the OS CD/DVD already inserted and when prompted just try repair. If that does not work re-install the same on the same 'partition' assuming it to be C by deleting the the windows system files only. While doing so keep the internet on and immediately after the basic version of the OS is installed and the m/c boots-up for the first time, go to the official website and download the latest drivers for every component like toch-pad, keypad, display, audio, etc.(i.e. almost all the drivers)

My keyboard when typing sometimes places the letters being type in a part of the message already typed instead of just continueing to type correctly

I have this happen to me all the time when typing on a laptop keyboard; sometimes my thumb hits the mouse pad, and depending on where the cursor is at that time, I type in an area where I already typed.

My recommendation is to either be careful when typing on a laptop keyboard, or if you're able, install an eternal keyboard (USB). That should take care of the problem, if I understand your question.

Mouse

if i were you, i would go into the bios when the machine is booting up, by pressing usually f2 or delete on the first black screen and setting all defaults in the bios, save it, then see if your mouse works. It may be that the bios is corrupt or misconfigured and that is why the integral mouse does not work.
