Question about Acer Aspire 3610 Notebook

Water spill My highly intelligent (Ha ha) stepdaughter knocked a glass of water on her laptop the other day (just informing us that it wont work now,) Is there anything we can do or perhaps or this covered under the warranty? She has only had it since Christmas. The "on" light still comes on but no screen (guess the light is water resistant huh?

Should still have warranty but not all warranties cover this.
do not try and take it apart to dry yourself or all warranty for the laptop will be void.

i recommend you return it and let them fix it
even you have to pay due to the fact that even if it does dry out and become workable again you will have corrosion.
i also recommend no food or drink by the laptop to prevent accidents.
Let me know if this helped

thanx

Its the spill valve that stuck under the micro swith, this is quite easy to fix, to take the cover off there are 3 square plastic tabs under the machine, pull these out about 1/2 in that releases the tabs on the case's edge press the case inwards where the tabs were & take cover off, at the hose end the black cover is held by 4 torx screws, take that off and remove the detergent holder, then take the 2 torx screws that hold the micro switch out, pull that away forwards & sideways, take the 4 torx screws off the cylinder head cover & take
the spill valve out, this is probably stuck so take care not to damage it as you try to pull it out, clean the valve & most important clear the bore in the cylinder head, its probably built up a white powderlike aluminium oxide, be careful not to scratch the bore, lubricate the spill-valve & it should now push back with not much resistance, now put it all back together, you could test to see if its workind OK before you fit the top cover, (if it doesn't you haven't cleaned the spill-valve & bore properly)
NOW DO IT AGAIN PROPERLY HA HA HA

2 stroke mower has fuel and spark but will not start

Hi,
Sometimes water (condensation) can get in the gas. If your model has a bowl on the bottom of the carburator, loosen the bolt and ease the bowl down and take it off. You will spill gas out of the bowl but that's ok. look at the spilled gas while you're at it and see if you see beads of water... tell-tale sign of this as being the problem. I'd get a paper towel and dry the bowl out before reassembling. To make sure there's no water in the gas tank, you could loosen the fuel line, drain the gas into a container (preferably glass so you can see if there's water in the bottom of the container, afterwards). If there was water, you might swab the bottom inside of the tank out with a paper towel. Reassemble everything and put in some fresh gas. You might can re-use the old gas, just don't pour the water back in... ha.
I hope this helps... Good luck!
