Check to see if you have a speakers A button and a speakers B button. Cycle them both on and off one at a time with something playing. This may turn the speakers back on. In addition you can check to see if you have a second room speakers feature that somehow got turned on- if so turn it off and the sound should come back. In addition you should download the manual and search for these features to show you have to deal with them.
If your headunit is in protect mode, the most likely cause would be the speaker wires are shorting somewhere. The most likely place would be the connections behind the stereo with an inferior installation. The next most likely place would be at the speaker connections, especially if the speakers were recently replaced.
sounds like the speaker is not grounded and to by pass the amp there are two way unhook the speaker wires to the amp and trace what color is what or just run a new speaker wire from stereo to speakers i hope this helps.
Hi does the amp go into protection mode? or does the sound dip and amp stays on? if it goes into protection mode there's a good chance your running the amp wrong. If it dips and stays on its a power problem that can be fixed by adding a farad capacitor.. thank you for using Fixya.com
I bought a Kenwood KVT-815dvd player and got everything hooked up to only find out that it had a security code. The problem now is that I got it from a pawn store and they did not even know that it had a security code on it. So is their a way I can bypass they password or just reset the whole unit so that it does not have one. Also, where is the memory for this unit?
Try checking all of your connections something may have come loose, usually its a speaker connection that may have come loose and come in contact with a piece of the car's chassis or a metal part. This will cause the 512 to go into Protect mode. When you fix this hit the reset button.
