No input signal go to power save

PAVILION S3020N

HI
I LIVE IN MEXICO AND I BOUGHT MY COMPUTER ON MY TRIP TO US A YEAR AGO. IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY UNTIL IT STARTED DISPLAYING THIS MESSAGE : no input signal go to power save. I TRIED A DIFFERENT MONITOR AND IT HAPPEND THE SAME. I EVEN TOOK THE RAM OUT, CLEANED AND PUT IT BACK, BUT IT DIDN´T WORK. I WAS TOLD BY A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN THAT IT WAS THE VIDEO CARD BUT IN MEXICO IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET THIS KIND OF HARWARE BECAUSE THE PARTS FOR THIS COMPUTER ARE SMALLER, AND THERE ARE NOT IN THE MARKET(IN MEXICO) YET. SO I AM GOING TO ORDER IT BY THE INTERNET IN A US STORE. NOW, I NEED HELP TO FIND OUT WHAT KIND OF VIDEO CARD MY COMPUTER NEEDS, BECAUSE I´VE HEARD ABOUT 128MB OR 256MB, AGP OR PCI (EXPRESS), AND IF IT REALLY IMPORTANT THE BRAND. SO, HOW DO I ORDER IT. THANKS.

Well, you have one of the Slimline models, and there isn't any room for a standard sized Video Card, as well as the power supply probably couldn't handle a standard video card.

The motherboard for this computer has 2 expansion slots. The expansion slot for the graphics card is PCI Express.
Here's a link to the motherboards specifications: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00910076&dlc=en

You will need a Low Profile Video Card. Here's a listing of some low profile cards from this US online ordering website, newegg.com (they are a pretty good place) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=low+profile+video+card. This is probably what you need, and I was expecting a much more expensive price tag on one of these cards considering they are harder to find.

What do you use your computer for? Work, or do you play video games? If you play higher graphic programs, get one of the 256MB cards for sure. You may want to go with 256 anyways, but if you only use the computer for internet and work/school, 128MB is sufficient.

Check the video cable connectors, remove the video connectors and reconnect them again.
Check the monitor input settings make sure the input is set to VGA and not to DVI.
Try a different monitor.

Try using F1. Either hold it down as soon as you turn on the computer until you see it entering setup.

Hp pavilion slimline s3020n PC the computer says no analog signal the problem is all the time cant run the computer at all.i have not tried to fix the problem myself

Does the computer turn ON? (do you hear beeps?, do you see lights on the computer NOT THE MONITOR?, do you hear the fans?, etc...) it could be the monitor, try an other one, it could be the video card, swap it with a known good one ,it could be the VGA cable change it, etc... if the computer is all dead try an other electric outlet.

Good luck!

My HP Pavilion PC will not start. The on button indicates it is on but it is not. Monitor says "no signal". The power supply failed a few years ago and it was replaced. Do you think this is what happened...

I do not know exactly what is going on with your computer, but if the light by the power button comes on and stays on then you can try pulling the ram out of it and then put it back in. A few years ago i had a compaq computer and all of a sudden it would not come on but the light by the power button was on. I thought the computer was shot but i contacted a tech and he told me to pull the ram out and put it back in. I did this and the computer came back to life and worked fine. Good luck. I hope this works for you.

Recording onto a micro SD card with HP Pavilion a1410n

Buy a micro SD card adapter.
Like this one: http://www.amazon.com/eforcity-Micro-SD-Adapter/dp/B001CQJSP4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1265587493&sr=8-2
Any of them should work fine.
Buying locally will save you shipping charges.
Buy them at any Radio Shack, BestBuy, Fry's Electronics, etc.

Computer problems

The computer isn't giving you that message; it's coming from the monitor. It means the monitor is working properly but is not getting any signal from the computer. Your computer is not starting up for some reason. You'll need to find out what is keeping the computer from starting properly.
