There are several reasons for stains on a Laser printer or photocopier

2. Ensure the toner is clean from outside.
3. Hope the Toner is not refilled and Is not leaking.
4. Clean paper path.
Norton changed your firewall settings to block that port. Open norton and look for Settings then manage firewall, then program rules...look for your printer someplace on that list and use the dropdown list to change it...if that doesn't work let me know...

Firewall Issue: Maybe your firewall is blocking
the connection to your printer. Try allowing access to all applications
related to Dell or printer or communication systems under Program
Permissions in your Firewall program.
unfortunately i don't have the manual for this machine but on others it's a communication problem with the chip on the toner cartridge. if you use aftermarket/refilled toner you might have gotten a bad one. did this error show up right after you changed toner?
A firewall should not stop you from connecting with your printer as it does not handle requests from that type of interface. If your printer does not communicate with your comptuer check first if the USB is properly connected and see if the found new hardware wizard comes up when you plug in the printer. That will tell you if the computer sees the printer at all. Next thing to try is to plug it in another computer to be sure that it works. You can also try plugging the printer in the back of the computer instead of in front if that is where you have it.
