I got this message after I replaced the electronics module, and at the time I noticed that one of the connections of the cable was broken, so I replaced the cable. After putting the printer back together I got the same error.

is the main logic board part of the electronics module?

do you have a picture of the main board on the electronics module and which connection should be correctly plugged in? Also for the connections on the trailing cable, is the white bar on each cable plugged in - is it plugged in so it shows up as in working?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Based on service information, the Service Code 0B0006 indicates:

  • Trailing Cable has been incorrectly connected; or
  • fuse in the Electronics Module has been burned out.
Corrective action involves:
  • Turn the Printer OFF a
  • disconnect the trailing cable
  • Check that the ends of the Trailing Cable are flat and are not damaged or bent
  • Reconnect the Trailing Cable correctly, making sure it is pushed in firmly.
  • Do the resistance test.
  • Power ON the Printer and check if the Error Code disappears.
  • If the Error Code continues, replace the Main Logic Board.
Should all things check out, pls follow the procedures for a more detailed diagnosis as outlined in the Service Manual. This due to the possibility that the hard disk may also need checking/replacing.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

Appreciate the rating. The main PCB (printed circuit board) is the Electronics Module as shown below.

To my knowledge there is no 'main logic board'. However, as shown below, there are:

    • DRAM DIMM (memory modules, item 3, blue in color);

    • Flash DIMM (programmable memory module, item 4, green in color);

    • EIO card (Input/Output interface card, item 5, yellow in color); and

    • Hard Drive (storage, item 6, pink in color).

Were you able to download the Service Manual?

What is system error 0B0006 on Hp design Jet plotter? I have replaced the power cable but no luck

The Trailing Cable has been incorrectly connected OR the fuse in the Electronics Module has been burned.

Corrective Action: Turn the Printer OFF and disconnect the trailing cable. Check that the ends of the Trailing Cable are flat and are not damaged or bent. Reconnect the Trailing Cable correctly, making sure it is pushed in firmly. Do the resistance test. Power ON the Printer and check if the Error Code disappears. If the Error Code continues, replace the Main Logic Board

Note: The logic board is a direct replacement for the Designjet 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus. If the plotter you are repairing is the Designjet 1050C (not Plus) you will also need to replace the memory and the firmware.

If you are repairing a Designjet 1055CM (not Plus) you will have to replace the Hard Disk Drive also. The firmware is identical for the 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus

Note: The aerosol fan is not used in the Designjet 1050C Plus or 1055CM Plus. Coil the cable out of the way or completely remove the fan.

WARNING TAKE CARE WHEN CONNECTING THE TRAILING CABLE TO THE ELECTRONICS MODULE OR CARRIAGE. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL BURN THE FUSE IN THE ELECTRONICS MODULE, CAUSING THE COMPLETE FAILURE AND REPLACEMENT OF THE LOGIC BOARD. 100 OHMS OR HIGHER MUST BE SEEN AT THE TEST POINTS. CONSULT THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR CORRECT PROCEDURE.

Continuable and Non-Continuable Error Codes

Some of the Error Codes are continuable, which means you can press Enter on the front-panel and continue working with the Printer. Non-Continuable Error Codes do not allow you to continue working with the Printer, in this case power the Printer OFF and ON again and see if the System Error disappears. If the Error Code reappears, then the Printer requires service in order to resolve the problem.

System error codes are hexa-decimal based numbers generally caused by internal system errors. Only try one recommended action at a time and check if the error code has disappeared.

Designjet 2500cp error 010036 00000100

This can be caused by a faulty electronics module, trailing cables, printhead carriage assembly, or ANY of the stepper motors.

try this...

Switch the printer off from the back, and then disconnect the trailing cables from the electronics module.
Switch the printer back on.
If the error code changes to '010037'
If the error stays as 010036, change the Electronics Module.
If it is 010037, replace the trailing cables, then the carriage assembly.

Trailing Cable Part No. C4704-60015
Electronics module Part No. C4723-60114

Good luck!

then disconnect the Trailing Cable from the
Electronics Module. Switch the Printer ON and
see if the Error Code now changes to “010037”.
If the error code remains as “010036”, replace
the Electronics Module page 8-6.
If the Error Code changes to “010037” then try
the following:
Make sure that the Trailing Cable is
connected correctly.
Replace the Trailing Cable page 8-36.

After print heads alignment its getting error 1004

The trailing cable is probably runing the printhead. Try replacing the printhead and trailing cable together. Parts available at: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-622-designjet-5000-5500.aspx
