My Olympus 510 will not take a photo with the attached flash. I am getting a red blinking flash symbol that (according to the manual) indicates that the flash is charging. I have not seen this before and have been getting the same blinking symbol for the past hour. It will still take photos without the flash. Anybody know how to fix this?
-   The attached flash pops up but I get a solid red lighting bolt on the menu screen and the flash will not fire, even in fill flash. Olympus said that it is most likely a broken flash tube. Any one having the same problem? My camera is only 8 month old. I thought the flash tube would last longer than 8 months.-   mikey747

-   I had the same problem with the built-in Flash. If it deems that the flashlight is needed, then the shutter can not work!-   yuewang25

I guess the solution to my E510 pop up flash creating a shadow when my 9-18mm lens is on, is to use the external flash. Too bad Olympus didn't think of this earlier. Any other thoughts?

Olympus e510 Appears to be similar to some below. Recently autofocus, and shutter do not clode in P, S or A modes, although the camera functions as normal in Auto or the pre-configured scene modes. Any ideas?
