Problem for Olympus EVOLT E-510 Body Only Digital Camera
510 will not take a picture with attached flash

My Olympus 510 will not take a photo with the attached flash. I am getting a red blinking flash symbol that (according to the manual) indicates that the flash is charging. I have not seen this before and have been getting the same blinking symbol for the past hour. It will still take photos without the flash. Anybody know how to fix this?

- The attached flash pops up but I get a solid red lighting bolt on the menu screen and the flash will not fire, even in fill flash. Olympus said that it is most likely a broken flash tube. Any one having the same problem? My camera is only 8 month old. I thought the flash tube would last longer than 8 months.- mikey747May 02, 2009
