It indicates that the problem is with the main board in display section.it needs to bechecked with a volt meter to check what part is gone faulty on the board.the faulty part needs to be replaced with minor repairs on main board.contacting a local tech to do the repairs is very much advisable.

HI,
The vertical lines, on the screen are caused by a bad display board. Its seldom caused by wrong settings. I would suggest you to call in a service guy for repairs.

Thanks

Hi

Are the lines thin or thick? Since when are you facing this issue ?
Try to change the channels and tune it

Also check the connections at the back and see if the signal cables are fine.If you are using HDMI cable then check for any broken or loose connections.

The wavy when cold is a issue with a board in the set--Hyper board--the warmup until it begins to work will gradually get longer and longer.

The blue: look at set on a unused video input--if see faint curved blue lines with some blue visable on the screen the blue screen control needs to be adjusted just slightly down until the blue and curved lines are not seen.

Hello..Toshiba 51HC85, 2005 model. Turn on TV and verticle wavy lines appear until TV is warmed up completely. After warm up the picture is great again. Any ideas?

I've had the same problem for about the last 6 months. My workaround which was to leave the tv on 24 7 and just turn off the TWC service box. But now the symptoms are vertical dark lines going all the way across screen. My guess is that it will cost more to fix than worth it. I paid @$2000 for it new in 2004. Technology has gotten better so I may just go out and get a Samsumg for considerably less and be way better off. None of Toshiba's products had done well for me. 2 laptops, 3 tvs, etc. have taught me this.

Verticle black bars

Check the connections on the flat cables to the screen. Be sure first to disconnect the power supply from the x and y sustain boards before you disconnect any of the flat cables.you will burn the cables from the stored energy in the power supply, also check cables on c boards at bottom of screen. If this does not fix probably bad panel.

Press the Menu Key on your remote. If your menu shows clearly on the screen, then there is a problem with your source.

Mitsubishi VS-45607 45" Big Screen

Good Day, Delano1981;

It may cure the problem but I would suspect the 9 Volt source
CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND
IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH
ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

This should resolve your TV"s condition.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

51 big screen apex tv, convergence or verticle IC?

If the lines are thin and close together running horizontally, it may be the vertical driver, but that usually takes out the resistor and sometimes the diode in the B+ for the vert. Also you must replace the caps that caused the problem in the first place.
