Leapster 2 has no sound

We just bought the Leapster 2 for our daughter 2 months ago. The sound started to sound kind of fuzzy and now it just doesn't work at all. She hasn't dropped it that I know of.

We got our daughter a Leapster2 for Chrstmas 08. One day the sound just stopped working. Called Leapfrog. They said to insert a cartridge, and turn the unit on. Plug headphones into the headphone jack. Then rotate the headphone plug-in 360 degrees,( It is easier to hold the heaphone plug-in and rotate the leapster2). Unplug the headphones and check to see if the sound works. Leapfrog said try it more than once, and if it does not work contact them,1-800-701-5327. We tried it and Hallelujah it worked!

We had the same problem - Leapster 2 (Cars Special Edition) with no sound. My son's only had it since Jan 2009 and the sound stopped working a couple of weeks ago (March 2009). Everything else was fine with it. We actually heard it get fuzzy and then the sound cut out altogether.

I replaced the batteries, still no sound. I emailed Leap Frog, who suggested a "trick" of inserting headphones into the jack, rotating the plug 360, and trying that a few times. But that was not successful.

Leap Frog, in turn, issued me an RMA to return the defective Leapster2 to them (at my cost) and are sending me a replacement to me at no cost. If it's not working still, you should contact them via email asap via their website www.leapfrog.com.

I have leapster l-max and am having trouble with the stylus working. when i try to calibrate, i can't click on center targets

Leapster L-Max recalibrates differently. I was trying to use the instructions and it kept asking for a blue button. For the Leapster L-Max push B, A, Hint, and Home when you turn it on. Do not have a cartridge in the player or it will think it is a regular Leapster. Once it says calibrate screen it will say to press A, then wait until a target appears in the upper left hand corner, touch it and you should hear a sound, then a new target appears in the lower left hand, repeat actions, then lower right hand screen, and finally the upper right hand screen. If it stops at any time and doesn't get more arrows, try it again or turn it off and see if the pen works. It may take several times to get it working again.

When my daughter touches any object with the pen nothing happens. It will keep telling you to touch a picture on the screen with your pen.

It may take a few tries to get it to recalibrate correctly.

The touch pen doesn't work

I had the same problem and here is the answer I found at leapfrog.com which fixed my daughter’s disney princess leapster 2’s problem. Good luck!
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit

Need source for instructions, parts and games

I believe you can get games for the Leapster Leapfrog at retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, and especially Toys-R-Us (who will have your greatest selection). We bought a similar console for my 3 yr old daughter and go to Toys-r-us for all the games and misc add-ons.

Hi , i bought the original x box about 5 years ago for my daughter, about 2 months ago, there was a burning smell, and the x box stopped. I can't seem to be able to find any one who can fix this problem....

The most cost-effective option is to buy another Xbox.

It is most likely damaged hardware, and the cost of a diagnosis/repair is going to be almost the same if not more than the cost of a used system.
