Kenwood VR-3090 Red light flashes above power when turned on

When trying to power the receiver on the light will flash and will not power up. I was setting the receiver up to a new environment with different speakers and when I tried to power up it went on initially and than shutdown and have been having this problem since.

tried the reset several times but that did not seem to work. how do you fix a clipping problem? I ended up buying a new receiver and hooking it up to the speakers and it works fine but would like to fix the old one if possible.

You may need to reset the microprocessor, the ownersmanual describes this process as Turn the Receiver OFF,UNPLUG the POWER CORD from the elecrical outlet,PLUG the RECEIVER back into the outlet while PRESSING and HOLDING hte POWER ON button, continue to HOLD the POWER BUTTON for a Second or two, Hope this works for you, if not a CLIPPING problem could be the source only if you set up new speakers or input source. GOOD LUCK

Sound system keeps cutting off. Red flashing light over power button

Take it in to a Kenwood service centre. You can't possibly diagnose what has been damaged by the power spike. At least it is not totally fried and they usually are. You are lucky.

Kenwood VR 605 power light flashes

CHECK FOR CLEARED COOLING VENTS & FOR PROPERLY WORKING COOLING FANS. THIS WILL CAUSE SHUTDOWN OF THE UNIT. IF ITS ALL CLEAR, YOU PROBABLY HAVE A POWER SUPPLY ISSUE.

I'm having trouble connecting my kenwood to my toshiba tv.. We are not getting sound when we connect it to the tv..

There must be three cables. White, yellow, and red. Ensure they are connected with matching colors on BOTH sides.

If tou still don't get sound, disconnect the L and R sound cables, left only VIDEO connected. On some TV's, the sound signal goes coded inside the video signal.

Check all your speaker wires for shorts, especially behind the amp, doesn't take much for something to throw a spanner in the works, like when cleaning house and moving stuff around.

WOOHOO!! I fixed this issue... same problem as everyone else has mentioned... to reset the Kenwood VR-606 receiver, unplug the unit. Hold the power button down and while holding the power button plug the unit in.
Say a prayer...
Then press the power button.
My display isn't working, but my speakers are working, and that's really all I care about right now... good luck to others!
