Question about Dometic WA3210 Compact Refrigerator

1 Answer

Dometic rm4223 wont run at all

The refrigerator is a 3-way unit. I have power to the plug, but I plugged the unit in and turned just the electrical switch on only and left it on for 12 hours, the backside/smokestack never even got warm nor did the inside get cool. Then I tried running it on gas and the unit would not light. Does anyone have any ides? Thanks

Make sure you have 12 volt DC power to circuit board. If you do you need a circuit board.

Our Dometic RM2193 cools on gas but does not work on electric

It could be as simple as a blown fuse at the fridge. Also check to make sure you have turned on the electric switch that allows the fridge to run on AC. Note, you can only operate the fridge on EITHER gas OR electric, but not both sources at the same time, thus, you have to turn off the gas switch before you can run on electric.

When this unit is running on electricity, it has to have the thermostat set for it to run.

Here's a link to the Dometic manual for your model.

Just follow the steps for running on electric and you should be OK.
Hope this helps.

Dometic rm4223 has leaked coolant. The refrigerator was running but not cooling as we smelled ammonia

You need a new cooling unit. That ammonia smell means that your heating unit is shot, needs to be replaced, and there are a coupla ways to go here.

1) Order up a rebuilt (or new) online, and replace it yourself. (Handyman skill level:fair.) $500.

2) Go to an RV repair shop and have that done $700.00 - $100.00

3) Buy a new fridge. $1000.00 ++

My dometic 2611 dosent want to operate correctly. Check light consistantly comes on. I'mm connected to ac power all of the time. AC sometimes works for a day or so then it might switch to gas for no...

If your unit is automatically switching from AC to gas for no reason, then you either have a problem with the power supply or the lower control board. On the outside of the fridge, there is a black box located in the lower left corner, this box is the control unit. The control unit senses the incoming power source and automatically switches it to LP if no AC power is available.

Turn the refrigerator on and set it to auto. Let it run until you notice that it switches to gas. Immediately go outside and check for incoming 120VAC power at that lower board. If you have power there, then you have a bad board. If you do not have power, then you have a power supply problem. Check the electrical plug and outlet in the fridge compartment and also make sure that your GFCI's throughout the coach are ok.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Dometic NDR 1292 does not cool

Check to see if your boiler tube is hot. If it is , your cooling unit is shot. Do not plug your circuit board into 110 volt power that will destroy it. To test your heating elements you need to do an ohms reading on the elements. But I can tell you from experience if your boiler tube/ this is the 3-4" diameter sheet metal tube going up the back of the refer/ is hot the cooling unit is no good. If you would like to discuss your diagnostics give me a call.
