Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
I just bought a new LCD screen for my laptop... I am going to put it in myself because I was told that it was easy and I could call for assistance if I needed any help putting it on... problem is I lost the number for assistance and now I don't have any idea how to take my original screen off and put my new one on... I remember the guy talking about taking out screws and putting them back on but now that is foreign to me... what screws?!? I see screws on the bottom of the computer but there are many!! Please help... I need step by step instructions with how to put my new LCD screen on my laptop! I will appreciate it for your time! Thanks so much!!!
I've worked on this model before. When your looking at the screen on your laptop, you need to take off the front bezel. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. Pull gently in different places to get it off.
Then after that there will be either 3 or 4 screws on the left hand side of the screen and the right hand side of the screen. You'll need a phillips head screwdriver to take off those screws. Then there will be an LCD cable that comes off from the back of the LCD, you can gently pull this off.
Then go ahead and line up the new LCD with the screw holes and start putting the screws back and hook back up the LCD cable. After this you may want to turn on the laptop to make sure you have video. Once you verify this, then you can do the last step and put the front bezel back onto the lcd screen, and that should be it. Hope this helps.

Holy chit boys RTFM when available! Dell always has a service manual online. Read it. You can read advice on the internets all day and see the craziest guesses, but read the official manual first so you know who is blowing up yer skirt.
