I am going to put it in myself because I was told that it was easy and I could call for assistance if I needed any help putting it on... problem is I lost the number for assistance and now I don't have any idea how to take my original screen off and put my new one on... I remember the guy talking about taking out screws and putting them back on but now that is foreign to me... what screws?!? I see screws on the bottom of the computer but there are many!! Please help... I need step by step instructions with how to put my new LCD screen on my laptop! I will appreciate it for your time! Thanks so much!!!

I've worked on this model before. When your looking at the screen on your laptop, you need to take off the front bezel. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. Pull gently in different places to get it off.

Then after that there will be either 3 or 4 screws on the left hand side of the screen and the right hand side of the screen. You'll need a phillips head screwdriver to take off those screws. Then there will be an LCD cable that comes off from the back of the LCD, you can gently pull this off.

Then go ahead and line up the new LCD with the screw holes and start putting the screws back and hook back up the LCD cable. After this you may want to turn on the laptop to make sure you have video. Once you verify this, then you can do the last step and put the front bezel back onto the lcd screen, and that should be it. Hope this helps.

Holy chit boys RTFM when available! Dell always has a service manual online. Read it. You can read advice on the internets all day and see the craziest guesses, but read the official manual first so you know who is blowing up yer skirt.

Streak in LCD Screen

Strip down and remake the connection to the ribbon cable. It has to be inserted squarely and evenly and then locked down. Make sure any spacers or locators are in properly between the two screens. Any pressure will cause display anomalies.

What is the cost of "dell inspiron 1525" laptop lcd

This one isn't too bad. The lcd for this labtop can be found on for 69.99 to 150.00.
its pretty inexpensive. The hard part will be putting the lcd in. If you have not taken apart electronics before it can be pretty hard to do. You have to basicley remove the keyboard, remove the screws that hold the LCD on, then you have to remove the lcd rails. and then re-install the components. If it is just the blacklight that has gone out this can be easier or harder and i usually recommend replacing the whole lcd if its that inexpensive. I hope this helps out

P.S. just search on ebay for "Dell Inspiron 1525 lcd"

Replacing LCD Screen

it depends on if the exisiting invertor is fine or not. If the panel is being replaced because it was cracked etc, then the chances are the invertor is fine and will not need replacing. Obviously if you don't get the same replacement panel that Dell originally used, then you may have to buy a different invertor & figure out the wiring connections to attach it to the motherboard.

Dropped my laptop- screen cracked

I would recommend locating a local computer repair shop that doesn't have a well known name around your town.

They tend to keep many extra parts of laptops lying around and it's as simple as finding a match and replacing the LCD panel.

The smaller shops may have better deals than the larger, but it might be smart to contact Dell as well on the same matter.

Replace broken LCD of dell inspiron 1525 with new LCD

Why do you need to replace the whole screen?
Have you worked out exactly what is wrong?
The screen may have a faulty CCFL lamp or a faulty inverter, replacing these is cheaper than replacing the whole screen.
For parts, service and DIY info have a look at LCD Parts WEB site.

My dell inspiron 1525 microphone does not record.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I used Skype ages ago and returned to it a couple of days ago. No one could hear me. I researched for 20 hours, downloading drivers, checking EVERY setting possible and NOW have got the ANSWER. The wires in the Microphone Array are fatigued. My microphone works perfectly when I tilt my lcd screen half way down. Go to Webcam Manager, Tools, Audio controls, the microphone has 2 bars which go green when you talk into it. Tilt your screen and watch the bars go up and down. Not the answer you probably wanted but as long as you skype with your screen half tilted everything is good to go
