So I'm assuming that this computer's OS is Windows Vista (since it's a new computer) correct?

With the computer off, Turn it back on and Press F8 a couple times right after bios screen.
You will be launching your computer into the "Safe Mode" , when the list appears.

  • So Select Safe Mode with the arrow keys, and Press -ENTER-
  • Once it boots up, and after you see the Desktop...
  1. Open Start menu and begin typing (in the little search-box at the bottom): cmd
  2. You should See a list appear right above with the results: You should see cmd.exe
  3. Right-click on cmd.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
  • You should see a black command prompt appear.
  • In here you're going to type the Following Command (without quotes.): "chkdsk /F"
  • so that is: chkdsk then ONE space and then /F
If chkdsk asks you if you want to check the drive next time Windows Vista boots or dismount the drive choose to check the drive next time Windows Vista boots. Never choose to dismount the drive. That option should only be used by a professional.

So reboot the computer, and let it boot up normally. It should show a chkdsk diagnostic screen, DON'T press any keys on the screen, as in doing so will skip the checking.
So let it do it's thing, it may take a little while, but not too long After it is done, It should reboot your computer again. So let it boot up normally again, Now try logging on Normally as you usually would.

Tell me if this helps or not. I'll be here to assist you further if you have any troubles.

Thank you for Reading.

My Sony vaio vgc-rb42g when I turn on it says boot manger is compressed it says hit crl alt del to continu but goes back to same screen. Kids messed with it don't know wat happend

You will need a windows recovery disc, you can make one on any Windows Vista/7 computer

Windows Button > Control Panel > Backup and Restore > Create a system repair disc.

Boot to the recovery disc and type the following commands
compact /U C:\bootmgr
compact /U C:\ntldr

That should uncompress them.

Need to know how to turn on the web cam found on the sony vaio all-in-one desktop model no. vgc-ls25e?

Install drivers for your specified vaio. you can always download web cam drivers free from the vioa website or just search online for specific drivers of your vaio ie "Webcam drivers for Vaio desktop - vgc-Is25e" search for something like that hopefully they are available for download free of charge. Or If you have the drivers Cd/DVD use it and install the necessary drivers for your webcam.

My sony vaio desktop (model vgc-rb60g) powers on then gives a continuous high tone and nothing else. nothing sent to the screen.

I understood your problem.
it's a beep code. That beep code indicates the nature of the problem with your CPU.

these beep codes are different as per manufacturers see the booklet provided with your CPU which shows continuous beep indicating type of problem.

If further cause such a problem then you should remove all connection to HDD and RAM and re-connect it manually.
Thank you for giving me opportunity to solve your problem.

please give me your Ratings!!

I have a Sony vaio VGC-RB52, recently my mother had logged out of her user account in windows 7, and left it at the screen where u choose ur user account. Then it was unplugged by accident some hours...

First of all disconnect the hard drive which is clicking and try to turn the desktop on. If it turns on then the HDD is causing the computer problems.
If it doesn't boot up then can you tell me if there is a blinking LED on the PSU (power supply unit)?

Sony vaio desktop R vgc ra820g stopped dead, now it powers up and then continually reboots over and over

The problem will be with Operating System, Processor over heat, or The RAM
