Question about Technics SL-1210 Turntable

1 Answer

I have a SL-B30 that when turned on won't start up.

I don't have manual. hasn't been used in awhile. Table spins freely. I can't remember if it should spin freely. Any ideas?

If your model does not say "direct drive" on the front then it sounds like your belt came off. this video will show you how to put it back on

My turntable won't spin - the spindle is fine and it makes half hearted efforts to move but will only **** a few times and then stop.

The self-lubricating bushing in the turn-table is dried out. This is a difficult problem to solve and best left to an expert. Don't expect great results.

I have not used it in a long time seems like the speed is wrong when i put it on 33/1/3 plays slow when i put on 45 it much better playing the 33

Good day. It sounds to me like the belt is worn. Under the felt of the turning section, there should be two rather large holes. Insert your thumb and forefinger and pull the table off. You should also see where the existing belt is running. Insert new belt around the motor first and replace the table section. Now, through the two holes, manouver the belt onto the table section until it spins freely

The belt came off on my Technics Model SL-B30 turntable, and I don't know how to put it back on. I took off the table, but was unsure of how to position the belt. Can you help? Thanks! Eddie K

there should be slots under the turntable mat big enough to get your fingers in. make sure the belt is around the table pulley set it on the middle spindle and then put the held part of the belt onto the motor spindle. then you have it. good luck..

try gently pushing the tone arm (actually the piece of plastic holding the tone arm) over to the right a little. works for me, but it still gets stuck often

hello

You need a belt.. Lift up the record support..(platter) Underneath you will see a metal post.. Belt goes around that and the bottom of the plate.(there is a rim) . If the belt is there, motor might be bad..
