I have a new computer(less that one week. It will not run a video. I get sound but a green sreen.. Whats up with that??

I would take it back to the place of purchase and ask them to show you how to play your video be it a DVD or a file from YouTube or the Internet. I've had this happen when I tried to play a video file from the Internet and my Video playing Application didn't have a codec for the type I was trying to play.

When I try to play a youtube video it says an error has occurred.

Try installing Adobe Flash Player, available from , and then re-starting your web browser.

If more problems persist, you may need to restart your computer, if you installed new Windows Updates, or the YouTube video you are trying to play may no longer be available on YouTube, because it may have been removed, because that YouTube user has either posted a video that is copyrighted, such as a Music Video, or had violated YouTube terms of Service.

Also, you may want to double check the web site address you are on, because maybe you either types in wrong web site address, or also, there may be some problem with your web browser.

If you want, list me your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox / ...), and also, which operating system you are using (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Linux, ...), and I may be able to help you.

Youtube videos will not play

Try to install flash player in your laptop.Because videos on youtube are in .FLV format so it requires flash codec to run videos.

Problem with Youtube

Thanks Eeeeekz,

I tried many things other than turning Java Script on, I think it's the option to allow the on site video player to run. Then I restarted my computer and it works. As I told I'm not sure it's that because I tried many things. Maybe youtube needs the option.

Youttube clips in powerpoint

Probably the other computers don't have the right version of Windows Media Player. All this multimedia stuff unfortunately is dependent on other stuff-- PPoint can't do playing media all by itself so it borrows the functionality from apps that can do it, like MediaPlayer.

When it comes to sharing around video, I usually go with the lowest common denominator: MPEG II is playable almost anywhere on typical media players without codec hassles. The "Any" Video Converter is available for free (no kidding-- totally free, no adware or spyware, etc.). I use it without any problems. U can get it here:

It's the second listed version from the bottom of the page. Convert your .wmv to an mpg (II) and insert it into your presentation. Should be able to port it to any post-Y2K Windows O/S without hassles.
