I am running into the blue screen with a simple install of windows XP. I believe I am running the correct SAS driver. I am getting a 7B error on the blue screen. I am not sure if BIOS version A07 which is on it supports XP. This is the first time I have worked with this computer so I am knowledgeable about it.

You are going to need to start your computer in safe mode and find the XP drivers that will work for your motherboard manually from the web (Assuming that there are any created for XP for that board). That blue screen you keep getting is because you don't have the correct driver loaded for something on the motherboard that it needs to boot correctly and your XP install couldn't find it on the web to install automatically.
Start
your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then
select "Safe Mode with Networking".
a waste of time and effort installing win xp on anything as it is no longer supported by Microsoft and had real problems with drivers for just about everything
install win 10 and it will work
you need a raid controler then use a raid driver disk before install windows, because you use sas as primary disk. these disk is for unix and server blade server, using sometimes windows server as Op System.
is a tradicional steps when using special hard disk
there is something to checkout for u. reinstall windows xp and do not install any driver just checkout that ur system is running properly or not. if yes then install one driver at a time and check the system that any blue screen appears or not. if any blue scrren appears then remove that driver and go for the latest version of that device driver. reinstall the xp from good media i.e it should contain all the reuired files and dont skip any files from installations.
Serial ATA (SATA) drives are the latest in the hard drive fashion and, in theory, installing Windows on the drive should prove relatively simple. The problem is that Windows XP doesn’t contain the necessary drivers to allow windows to see the drive so that Windows can install it.
I found the procedure below on an XP support website. I have not tried this procedure but after reviewing I fairly certain this should work for you.
1/ Copy the SATA drivers (these can usually be found on your pc or motherboard's support disk. Usually these consist of PIDE/SATA Folders and TXTsetup.oem files. Alternatively they may have been supplied on a separate CD that accompanied your SATA drive, assuming you purchased it separately from the pc.)
2/ Insert the Windows XP CD (full retail version – you should not need to follow these instructions if your pc came with a recovery disk) into the CD-ROM and Reboot your PC
3/ Watch carefully as the Windows XP installation progresses and look carefully at the text at the bottom of each screen.
4/ At the Windows Setup Screen (this should be the second screen after installation starts) you should see, at the bottom of the screen) a message saying “Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.”
5/ At this point press the F6 button
6/ When the next screen appears press S to specify an additional device
7/ Now insert the floppy disk containing the SATA drivers into your floppy drive
8/ Windows will next ask you to select a driver from the provided list
9/ Select VIA Serial (or whichever controller your motherboard supports) ATA RAID Controller (Windows XP)
10/ The SATA drivers on your floppy disk should now load
11/ After the drivers have loaded Windows XP will recognise your SATA hard drive and you can continue installing the Windows XP operating system
In fact USB 1.0 dosent require any additional SW in XP environment, its driver is inbuilt in Xp. However USB 2.0 Obviously requires its driver that you can download either from www.microsoft.com or from your motherboard vendor's website.
The blue screen might be because of VIRUS, currupt Windows or driver conflict.
Please uninstall all undesirable drivers, use Windows setup disk to repair your current installation (run setup and select upgrade, not new Installation)
Basically you've got to take your XP cd and modify it to work correctly with your laptop.
Have you already tried using just a regular XP cd? If it didn't work it's because your laptop harddrive is SATA and not IDE. The XP cd doesn't come with the correct drivers so when you finish installing XP a blue screen of death will come up and prevent you from loading Windows.
I believe you are using a sata drive not ide, correct? The problem is that vista has built in drivers to support your boards sata/raid controller, winxp does not. to work around this you need to go here - http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/download/download_driver_detail.php?pFILE_TYPE=Driver&pMAIN_TYPE=Motherboard&pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=KN8+Ultra&pSOCKET_TYPE=Socket%20939 Abit website. for your board - socket 939. KN8 ultra file called NVRaid Installation disk. click on picture, it will download the zip file. extract the files to an empty folder (create one). Then run RFDgen.exe program. It will create the floppy you will need. I hope you have a floppy drive, if not try a usb one. If it has a problem creating the floppy, copy the files in the folder floppydisk to your floppy. there is a readme.txt file in that folder as well that should help explain which option you should select when you install windows. So... once you have the floppy start your computer up with xp disk in and as the screen turns blue, you will see at the bottom of the screen a message - press F6 to select additional drivers. Do just that, a couple of times to be sure. then it changes to press F2, just sit back and wait. eventually it will come to a screen asking if you want to specify additional drivers. press S and the next screen will show you the drivers it found on the floppy. select the one for your configuration (can be changed in the bios). and then windows will load fine. this is necessary for all new systems with sata/raid installing xp. take care.
