Water still in bottom of tub after drain/spin cycle
Sears Kenmore Type 111 Top Load Washer - after drain & spin cycles, there is still water in the bottom of the tub and we have a significant amount of water pooled on the floor under the washer. I can hear the water draining thru the hose so the pump is working. I think something (a sock or something small) may be blocking the drain but I can't figure out how to get into the tub area to check. Thanks!

many machine spin a full tub as they are pumping the water out
this helps to even out the washing load and reduce the unbalance situation
when the water is removed , the machine progresses the program to a high speed spin
call a technician as there may be a problem in the program board
That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. Problem fixed. I took apart the bottom of the washer to access the pump, and found that there was underwire from bras stuck in the discharge tube blocking the water from exiting the washer and that was causing the cycle problem. I guess that the washer knew that there was too much water in the tub and kept trying to expel it.
remember ,,the tub has a balance ring on top..and that filled with water,,,if your getting water at bottom make sure your drain hose is at proper height,,,+theres always water between the pump and the drain hose no unit can drain 100 per,,
If pump works fine or still pumps out water, then it is a timer malfunction. Replace the timer and you should be fine. To locate a part number for your timer, refer to www3.sears.com with the model number off your washer.
